It’s mid-September now, so are we ready to get @graceabounds2129 idea started? I’m so in!
@nuetrobolt Will you be able to join us? How’s school going?

@wordsmith Thanks so much! I think I have a pretty good list from you and the others I have asked. Also, you should join Y-dubs! It’s AMAZING!
@corkybookworm Thank you! 😀

@corkybookworm By timeframe, are you asking for a time by which I would like your thoughts back? Would a month be too fast? And how would you like me to send it to you? I can convert the file to .rtf pretty easily, or Google docs might work well enough, or I think I can get it into a .txt file that will work semi-decently on a kindle. (The .txt…[Read more]

I’m back home now! Actually, I was back Sunday, but life has been busy. But all’s well in my neighborhood concerning the hurricane! Thank you for your prayers! <3
@quinn-ofallon – Your Moonwatcher world sounds so mystical! You must have had a lot of fun playing around with the worldbuilding; I’d love to vacation there!
@corkybookworm – Yes, selk…[Read more]

Oof… I’m sorry, I don’t believe I can help here, as those two fields are outside what I usually work in. Unless by contemporary you mean contemporarily written. To which I would point at N.D. Wilsons’s Boys of Blur, 100 Cupboards, Ashtown Burrials, Leepike Ridge, and Outlaws of Time. All of those are adventure fiction, but each…[Read more]

Ooh, interesting discussion.
Your worlds all sound very neat and interesting.
@corkybookworm I love the ocean and I really want to write a fantasy book about the ocean (without having mermaids in it!). I haven’t really thought of any ideas yet, though.
My current world is actually three worlds stacked on top of each other. There are four…[Read more]

@corkybookworm The sprites sound really cute. 🙂 Come to think of it, I should include the sea in a story sometime. Thanks to watching all of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies at a friend’s birthday party, it would probably include a lot of sailing ships and sword fights.

@corkybookworm Sorry I forgot to tag you! I thought I added you, but obviously I didn’t. 🙁
I love your ocean-themed world with the different types of sea people! I don’t like most common fantasy races, but there’s just something captivating about mermaids. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m an awful swimmer. 😛 Have you every heard of the Spiderwick…[Read more]

*waves* Sorry I’m not around much, but I appreciate getting tagged once in a while to remind me to rejoin the conversation. n_n; And these are some interesting world-building questions! Too bad I can’t answer them quickly except by the cop-out answer, “It depends.” xD But so far, I’ve used both dogs and cats as pets for my characters, and another…[Read more]

Ah! It’s a word war! Prompt wars are 1st week of the month, word wars are last week of the month.

@corkybookworm I second your reaction. WHAT? Someone, please give the who, what, when, where and why……ok maybe not the why, but everything else.
@wordsmith I know you’re not technically here. But Hi anyways 😃

So based on everyone’s favorites so far, here is an idea:
What if we posted a thread where everyone who wanted to participate posted their “writing plan” for the week (like 30 minutes on Monday, and hour on Tuesday, break on Wednesday…etc.) and we had a mini…[Read more]

@corkybookworm Thats so awesome!!! What color is your dress? Also, I love Spanish so much!! It’s been a couple years since I was able to take it in the classroom setting, but I’ve been trying to do my best to keep up on my own. Not going fabulously, but its better than if I were doing nothing haha

@missfaeriekaiti @corkybookworm Thanks so much for the feedback! I knew that last line wasn’t quite hitting the right note, but I couldn’t figure out why. By the way, if either of you want to read the first chapter, I posted it this morning on my blog here. 🙂

@corkybookworm Yes, I am feeling better, thanks! =D And no, those “how” questions are exactly the type of thing I recommend! @quinn-ofallon Asking “how” tells the audience the focus is on the journey. It implies, “You may think you know where this is going to end up, and you might be right, but how Roshni gets to that end is important!”

@corkybookworm Congrats to your brother! And how fun to be a bridesmaid! 😀
@graceabounds2129 Good idea! I would say my favorite stuff is the word wars and character lounge. 🙂

@corkybookworm Thank you so much for the critique! It’ll really help me get rid of those confusing bits. I tend to try to stuff a ton of information into blurbs and similar stuff, which doesn’t always work…
Anyway, I’ll be posting a chapter every Thursday on my blog (https://quinnofallon.wordpress.com/), so if you want to read it, the first…[Read more]
