I believe that while man is free to choose good or evil, we will, in our fallen state, invariably choose evil. We are free to do so, but we will not–in both senses of the word.
I honestly don’t know. Haven’t thought about it honestly. I think the main point, which I think we both agree on, is that if you’re trying to write something allegorical or purposefully to portray something theological, make God the hero. Make him the savior. You can’t go wrong there.

I would say, no. Our salvation does not depend totally on our acceptance of his sacrifice. It depends on whether God enables us to be able to accept it. Psalm 53 is clear that no one seeks God. Romans 3:23 echoes this. How can we presume that we can choose God when we can’t even seek him?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The only flaw i see in your argument is that teaching children pretty colors and happy endings are good and well, but too often it trickles over into adulthood, and the message of the Bible is watered down.
I see you’re point when you say you have a problem with calling the content R-rated, but not the book itself. I would just point out that if it’s rated R, it is not appropriate for children, and (as a general rule) morally wrong. To say either of those things about the Bible would be a problem.

I totally agree with everybody that the buildup for the disastrous night was huge and the payoff was…not. But they don’t work in Jesse Promise.

Hey, this is already going where I didn’t expect it. I actually really liked Matt. 😁Well, particularly his younger self, but the older self was fine too. It’s fascinating how we read the same things differently. @taylorclogston, the lines you quoted, I…[Read more]

I’ve honestly never thought about the pros and cons of revealing or hiding aspects of a character early on in a story. As I’m thinking about it, it seems the one thing I’d avoid is the completely mysterious character.

@a_nna This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately, as my WIP is centered around a crew of nine people.
