Hi, everyone! I tagged a bunch of people I thought might be interested in this post.
So, tomorrow I am releasing an ebook on Amazon called “Memory Lane Was Moved”. I encourage you to visit the webpage it is listed on here. It will be free for the first five days it is available.
Anyway, some may ask, “What it is like to publish on Amazon? Did you have to pay anything? What was involved in getting your book ready?”
Long story short, “Pretty cool. No. Lots of stuff.”
But I don’t think that was very informative. Let’s try again.
So, after my book was completed, I had my older sister (my main editor), my younger sister, and a family friend run over it (only two of them finished it all the way through). A lot of errors were found (stuff I may have never thought of) so if you’ve ever wondered if you really need an editor, the answer is ‘yes’. It’s very helpful to have a fresh pair of eyes to look over your story.
I had to format my book on the Kindle Publishing app. I designed my book cover with Canva. I was having trouble figuring out how or if to use the design with Amazon because of the way things were structured. After inquiring about it with Amazon, I was given the “okay”. Which is great because I would have had trouble trying to make a design, otherwise.
So, there you go! I’ve been told that having a, “five-day free book” promotion is a great thing to do, so I’ll see! If you have any more questions or want more details on the publishing process, leave a comment down below!
Thanks and write on!
