Hi, Rose!
Your WIP sounds very cool! What are some of your favorite fantasy books?
My favorite part of my WIP is that I’m writing in third person omniscient for the first time, and I’m very much enjoying developing an “author voice”. 🙂
Thank you for the forum information!
I don’t have much of a plot summary ironed out to share, but my story is a high-stakes good vs. evil, classic heroes and villains, Hero’s Journey type of fantasy. I’ve always wanted to write something in the same vein of story as Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc.
I love reading theological works by R.C. Sproul, John Piper, and Francis Schaeffer!

I am a big fan of R.C. Sproul. Loved hearing him speak and teach! I went through his book “Essential Truths of The Christian Faith” as a morning devotional every day before work. Loved it! I love Christian Apologetics! Francis Shaeffer is another good one. I have many of these types of books in my personal library that I have collected over the years. I used to work at a Family Christian Bookstore and a privately owned Christian Bookstore for a couple of years during college. I about went broke using my “employee discount” to buy almost everything I could find in Christian Fiction and Apologetics type works. So many books, so little time…[sigh]. I am presently working on a 3 book fantasy with elements of sci-fi in it, as well as biblical history and historical mystery. It is a cross between Tolkien, Peretti, Dekker, Bunyan, Lewis, Liparulo, Heinlein, Herbert & Koontz. Not sure that makes sense but it appears to be something “new” in the mix. I have the first two novels (for better or worse) posted Chapter by Chapter on my Blog. [I am editing behind the scenes.]
I believe Andy Weir’s Sci-Fi novel “The Martian” started that way too, before it became a novel and later a movie with Matt Damon in the titular role.
The dragons in my novel have biblical origins…. As do the Greek type Half-humans… There are also two of the “missing prophets” from the biblical timeline.
