Rest in Him

I know where there is a hushed abode
If in my life the longings are heavy load
A Savior, my Lord Jesus Christ

In his nail scarred hands I can lay
The longings that my soul can’t stay
What better rest than leaning on His breast
And trusting that He knoweth best

I rest in Him for He is my Lord
What can others offer me that’s better than
Submitting me unto His plan
I rest in Him for He is my Lord

I rush to the Rock when wars arise
And on my knees release the fear in my eyes
To Mightiest Lord Jesus Christ

In His mighty arms I abide
I know  under His wings I can hide
What then I should fear though warriors drew near
And days ahead looked very dear

I rest in Him for He is my King
What then should I fear when He’s protecting me
Defeated is the enemy
I rest in my for He is my King

I rest in the Lord, for He is God
Though all my days be spent in toilsome plod
Though all my dreams dissolve like salt in the sea
Though all my longings never are what I’ll be
I rest in the Lord, for He is God.
