Reverse the Sun

Is there any way my dark world could change for good
I prided my own hard-heart in hardihood
But many the times I missed when I
Could have done better but I didn’t try.

I can flip calendars of crimes I’ve committed.
I can’t remember many times I’ve committed
To make the Son smile down upon
This ever-wandering prodigal son

And I stand in the face of failures I can’t erase
With my head hung down in disgrace
My once soft heart I have defaced
Is there any repair for the damage I have done

I’d take a different turn if I could
I’d turn the world around if it would
But I can’t undo the deeds I’ve done
Yet still I long to reverse the sun

I am haunted by voices every single night
All those voices I’d rather not revive for the fright
In scenes they show, They scream so loud
Decrying the times which I was so proud

And I stand in the face of failures I can’t erase
With my head hung down in disgrace

I heard You, the Savior, you can take
Away all my shame if I call upon your name
With all the odds stacked and my sanity at stake
I’d rather fall to my knees and cry out God please
Help amend for the deeds I’ve done
