**sees 2019 on the calendar**

Wow. 2018 disappeared quickly, and left a lot of lessons in its wake. All of which I am very grateful for, and the holidays are always a bit chaotic for us since “no” doesn’t seem to be a word we know how to use in this house…

Anyway….Because I started December knowing I was going to be changing jobs and going back into management, I read and listened to lots of productivity and goal setting gurus. One thing that stuck out to me the most in all of the ‘advice’ was this from Brendon Buschard:

“Don’t set goals with the intent to solve a problem.” He advises making your goals SKILL goals so that you learn something you do not know that will get you closer to where you want to be.

That being said, my goals for 2019 are:

1) To run 3 full miles by the end of summer without dying or breaking something. @emgc A THOUSAND MILES?! You are my new hero. =)

2) To write, edit, and publish the final book in my series by November.

3) To add value to every person I meet online or in person every day.

4) Research agents and learn to write a proposal to an agent that includes: a cover letter that can’t be overlooked, long, short, and extended synopsis, and a ‘One Sheet’ that can be given to perspective agents at events.

There are many smaller goals inside each of those. Under number 3 (adding value) one of the goals is to be active in this community at LEAST twice a week.

Yep. I think that looks like a good list. =)
