(Ok I actually found a couple of posts so those are all here)
~~~~~Solstice and Zeinli scaled the trees and scanned their surroundings.
It looked like all of the wolf-people had retreated back into their city. Thank the Force. Solstice didn’t think this ragged group could take one more hit.
From where she peered out of the trees, Solstice s…[Read more]
@winter_rose I tried finding your last post, from my emails,
“General Quillon! A Separatist battleship has just emerged from hyperspace!” The pilot said in a rush.
“Send word to the Republic. We are under attack!” Ivaylo said, and then turned to the others. “Get the king to an escape pod. We can’t afford to have him captured.”<…[Read more]
Hello, Everyone!
I am new to the group, but have been interested in and reading Sci-Fi for a quite a long time. Finding trouble locating too many books in this genre with a biblical worldview, so I am very glad fellow Christians are taking the genre back.
I have recently been listening to some lectures by an Australian scientist by the name of…[Read more] -
Well it would be an orbit through the core, not around the core. It would basically be a straight line, they’d be going back and forth on. It’s a similar scenario to an oscillating spring. And that’s assuming the hole goes all the way through.
I think it would mainly cause the no-gravity location to be not in the geometric…[Read more]
If the material deteriorates similar to uranium, the gravity will weaken slowly. The people on the vessel may not notice the weakening until something or someone jumps a little higher or flies a little farther than normal. Water or other liquids might be an indicator. Liquids tend to turn into spheres in zero g.
Since space is a…[Read more]
Thank you guys for the tips!
In a symmetrical sphere, the gravity gets weaker the closer you get to the center. At the center the gravity is zero. Gravity will always pull toward the center, so if you were passing through the center, gravity would change directions. (If you want more details look up Newton’s shell theorem). Your p…
Well the idea of using a superheavy material to create artificial gravity is a new one for me. However, there are some inherent problems for space flight. Because of the weight of this material, very high power engines would be needed for forward movement. This in turn would probably mean having to store equally large amounts of…[Read more]
I never thought about there being a flotation device within the spaceship.
Greetings, more seasoned sci-fi writers! I am predominantly familiar with fantasy, and am currently writing a sci-fi, I wanted to ask about a couple ideas I had for the world:
- A material that can be used for artificial gravity?
- I was thinking something along the lines of a material harvested from blackholes (or something along those lines…
That’s all right.
The ship lifted off of the ground and quickly rose into the atmosphere.
Solstice watched as it left her and the others behind, trying to work through her tangle of emotions about being left behind.
“What do we do now, General?” Bo’ asked Zeinli. The remaining clones began falling back to Zeinli as the wol…[Read more]
That’ll work fine. Sry for not responding, I’ve been trying to think of how to write this next bit and I’ve been busy too…—————————
The crew was trying desperately to get to the ship, but even the wolves could tell that the two Jedi didn’t want to harm them, and cut their way of escape.
“Zeinli!” Jaina called from the ramp.
So who do you think should get captured and who should be separated? Hmmm.
Solstice reached the boarding ramp and turned back to look at those still running toward the ship. She spotted Cresh supporting an injured clone. The two were beginning to lag behind. Zeinli and Bo’ turned and defended the rear of the group, which c…[Read more]
