@silverclaw-bonnetfolly @evelyn @steward-of-the-pen @cassie-hartfinh Thank you for the ideas! I have a plan now for what to do.
After she hears the news, she’ll be stubborn and refuse to believe it. Since she finds out the truth fairly quickly, I don’t think there’s time for her to accept his death, but the beginning of the grief process will be…[Read more]

OKAY GUYS! Once it is Monday, stop writing, and submit your words on this thread. If you’ve edited, submit however many words you got, then say that that was editing. Good job guys!
I wrote 7284

@steward-of-the-pen Plotting is anything pre-writing. If you’ve been writing new scenes then that is writing.
We’re subtracting 500 because a few people reckon that it is easier to edit what’s already been written opposed to coming up with something new.
Again guys, appologies, I’m making a list of all of these things that we need to sort…[Read more]

@coggleton @steward-of-the-pen Personally, I’m more into the natural magic idea, but that’s neat, too. I’m not a big fan of vampire (fiction) myself.

In regards to the question about physics, science fiction and fantasy both work along similar lines; the audience agrees to go along with a narrative conceit that does not match up with reality, so long as internal consistency is maintained. Consider faster-than-light travel; we currently are nowhere near the…[Read more]

*sobs over the Wingfeather Saga* So beautiful, so heartbreaking.
Ooooh, yes. Gollum had a very cool role, and was well foreshadowed. Oh dear. It’s horrible when that happens!
Okay then!

Today, we are looking at the info from last lesson, and turning it into something.
Two paragraphs to be precise.
In which you are going to foreshadow your plot twist.
This shouldn’t be too time consuming or anything like that. You can use your own WIP, or just make up something for the purpose. The aim is to make sure that the readers get a…[Read more]

@j-a-penrose Oooo!
@steward-of-the-pen Man, I can relate. Most of mine have been dragged away as well.
Okay, so I think we need to go about this is in a slightly more logical order, because everything leads from everything and we mostly have a bunch of random tidbits at the moment. So, I think some of the first questions to ask are:
- Do…

Hey, Parimis! In my current WIP, there is a character who receives word that her best friend has been executed for treason. The way I’m writing the story, there is no reason for her to believe that he could have been saved. (But, spoiler, he is. Sort of. It’s rather complicated, but it has to do with his father’s sly plots and such.) I want the r…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-penHmmm, I’d have to check but I am preeetty sure that it wouldn’t be anonymous enough. Unless we have a judge who is totally separate from all of the Guildiness. (And I think I know who is judging the guild war anyway.)
Don’t worry. I do have plans for our world though. *mysterious nodding*

@steward-of-the-pen @j-a-penrose Ah, glad you found it. It posted and then I edited it for a format thing and it disappeared… I was wondering if my computer just glitched and it was showing up for everyone else, or if I accidentally deleted it. Then I decided to wait and see because I didn’t want to completely retype it just then.
