Originally I was going to propose writing “You” to be the hero of an author’s story… basically the voice of the story giving “You”/the hero a pep talk… bordering on humor/fantasy. But it looks I’m behind and a lot of you here have established the author to be “You,” which is a great idea but beyond my current abilities, so I’ll just pop this…[Read more]

On that note…
If we haven’t started on a draft in 24 hours, I’m probably just going to start writing. Just so that we definitely have something to hand in. *fingerguns* Ideally, I let you guys write the first draft so that you can practice and grow, but having something happening is the no. 1 priority.

@steward-of-the-pen I’m pretty sure we’re going with ‘You’ being the protagonist, and just actually having to deal with that. As for genre sort of thing, I’m taking a stab in the dark at fantasy, seeing as that is a distinctively different world compared to the one that they’re living in. Although, to be fair, whoever ends up writing this can just…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen I have been dabbling in contemporary, but it is hard to find a good contemporary novel to learn from. One of my favorite contemporary novels, is Wonder by R. J. Palacio.
@j-a-penrose Ha! Those books are on my to read list! (Except One-Of-My-Favourite-Books-Of-All-Time-That-Needs-To-Be-Published ;))

@trufflehunter Oh neat! We should exchange some silly poetry sometime. How do you find topics to write about?
@steward-of-the-pen Aww, thanks! <33
@ariella-newheart I love it! I like the vagueness… it’s uncliched and quite lovely. 🙂

@evelyn That’s okay! Thank you for all the encouragement so far.
@steward-of-the-pen Well, I have trouble with “show-don’t-tell” and also with making realistic conversations. General feedback about the story would be nice, too. If you’re up for the task, I can send you a link. 🙂

Keep plowed the fallow ground.See how far the eye…[Read more]

As Christlover has said, guys, I reckon it’s time for us to get writing!
For all of you old-timers, (You’re over a year old, some of you. Yikes!) you should be pretty familiar with the routine, and it would be great if you keep things going smoothly through the rather chaotic drafting process that’s about to ensue.
The doc we’ll be writing in is…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen I wish I had anything to say about poetry! I really enjoyed reading this, and the visual shape of it, but I don’t have the expertise to offer critique.

Thank you so much!! And that is horrific. I will be praying for your state as well!! What has me really upset is that they can’t decide when a baby is a life. Babies have been born and survived at 24 weeks, how can they debate that a child that WILL live is a life worth protecting? How can people insist that just because they…[Read more]

@steward-of-the-pen I like all the imagery you used! The poem’s message is strong and inspiring, a good illustration of what the Church truly is. It’s also a great reminder to pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters whom we love so dearly and will one day meet. <3
