Hi folks. Just finished recovering from Christmas and Covid in a large family back to back.
Klein leaned back. Quite a lot had happened. Qatar wasn’t dead. The melee that the “lord castle” has wanted seemed to be unofficially over. Liorah was back though she seemed different. She promptly began an argument with Lorcan. Someone else appeared as…[Read more]

Klein listened to the voice again. This time calling for bloodshed. Aydin’s self-inflicted cut didn’t count. The blood had to be shed from another persons attack. Scratching his chin, Klein quickly though up lesser injuries he could deal and take. Before he could decide, Quin began to mumble and gesticulate. Klein recognized the pattern. He was…[Read more]

“Wait, you too?” Klein looked at Basil
“You said you’re biologically enhanced, so I had to ask. You’re not involved with Project Goldenseal, are you?”
Klein remembered when he had finished the enhancements. The brass had warned him that rival nations could be developing their own super soldier projects. This however was the first one he had h…[Read more]

“I’ve been thinking about the next challenge, and it occurred to me that several of you are particularly well suited to it. Our resident assassins.”
Klein raised his eyebrows. This was a new trick this place was trying. But Klein was curious. Given the situation, capable fighters were needed. Assassins were quick and accurate. For now what they…[Read more]

“YULENNA! MOTHER!”
Klein snapped awake. Gripping his rifle, he jerked his head around. Niarok was near yet another newcomer. He was bleeding bad from a slash in his leg. Nearby was a six legged camel? Its apparent handler was calming it. Everyone else wasn’t acting like something was too dreadfully wrong. Sitting up, Klein rubbed the back of his…[Read more]

Klein listened to the introductions, waiting his turn. As the group gathered close to the fire, he moved to the side, opening room. The action also gave him a greater view of the cave entrance, training etched into him. Klein looked at the flames through his Plexiglas visor and smiled to himself. While he had started it and feed it, he did not…[Read more]

Klein flinched as several of the men left for the back of the cave. One was missing. Instinctively, he wanted to help but this could be a trap. Someone had to be rearguard. And the temperature was dropping. Slipping up to the entrance of the cave, Klein looked out. Clouds had gathered and covered the sky. A flash of lighting burst in the cloud but…[Read more]

Well since we are going to have snow lets make it even more interesting. There is a phenomena call Thundersnow and it would really mess with our characters. Just a little.

@anne-of-lothlorien
This is what we call “threading the eye of the needle.” I think this is a historical fiction as long as there is a trigger event were history changed. -

Well this is very late but welcome aboard. I’m a specialist in world war two but war in general pulls my attention. Tactics, troops, equipment, you name it I know a little. -

Klein heard Niarok cross the stream. The torch soon lit up the abandoned camp. The sudden change in light hurt his eyes. A fault discovered after the augmentation. Sometimes being able to see like a cat in the night could cause a sudden change in light to momentary blind the person.
“I’m Niarok, what did you find?”
Klein nodded at the notep…[Read more]

Klein watched as the group entered a cave. Slipping in behind them, he turned and swept the treeline. No contacts. Satisfied, he followed the torch. A few yards in, the group stopped. Everyone was tired. Back to back encounters had pushed them hard. Klein stood out because of that.
His own endurance had been improved by harsh training. He still…[Read more]

Klein looked up at the night sky. It was so much like it was on Earth and Mars. Stars twinkled and shown in the black abyss. Peacefully they would drift over the sky through the night. Few would notice that. It was taken for granted that simple things were often the most beautiful. While he admired the view Klein recorded it. His suit’s computer…[Read more]

Project Kelpie. Klein remembered the day is started. He had just finished his first dozen missions as a Marine Raider when they came to him. The brass wanted enhanced soldiers. They were very clear with the term. He had asked. The Super Soldier mentality falsely led men to believe they were invincible. The enhancements made you tougher, not…[Read more]

Klein walked through the rubble. The dust had mostly settled by now, coating his armor in a light grey layer. And it was quiet. Far too quiet. His experience told him that there was no way all the enemies had been killed in the blast. A few had survived and were either still recovering or repositioning.
To his left, there was movement. Snapping…[Read more]

Klein acted fast. Pulling his knife from the warg’s neck, he sheathed it. Switching to the rifle, he jumped to the roof of a house. He had done this so often before. Bipod down. Scope clear. Open optical connection. The HUD over his right eye filled with the new images. His third “eye” zoomed in on the pack.
A dozen wargs give or take in the…[Read more]

Ok, Transubstantiation is simple and complex at the same time. Jesus said, therefore it is. The bread and wine used in the Eucharist retain there earthly appearance. They retain what our senses can detect. Spiritually however, the substance of the bread and wine is fully the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. As for the second part,…[Read more]

I am a Catholic and retired altar boy so I have some answersFirst. Transubstantiation is VERY REAL. Jesus himself says in Luke 22 verse 19-20 “And He took bread, and when He had given thanks broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’ And likewise the chalice after…[Read more]

I got you swordsmen (and women) in mind. In CQB, range of weapons become less important. Reflexes and speed are the name of the game. Klein will go to a rooftop and establish overwatch to get an idea of how many targets there are. He will try to cut down some of them but the urban environment will create many blind spots. Spots…[Read more] - Load More
