@eden-anderson That sounds like fun! However, you’re the one who knows his personality, so you’d be the one making Ferdinand really happen. I had(have) an imaginary friend named Lilla who was always a huge fan of Disney World. The first time I realized I wanted a cell phone(in about 4th grade) was because I’d given Lilla one. I’ve considered…[Read more]

You know you’re a writer when…
You’re sitting at the dinner table with your family, but you’ve entirely zoned out of the conversation to work through a frenzied mob scene in your head until your mom suddenly taps your arm and says, “Hey, are you ok? You look really, really angry.” Well, I guess I have some facial expressions down.

@eden-anderson I have a couple of short stories that I’m working on, but no serious long projects. I’m mostly trying to build confidence at this point by actually finishing projects. I posted a couple I just finished on the “Critiques” subforum, which is an amazing place to get help by the way, so check it out.
The one I’m currently spending the…[Read more]

@rachel Omigoodness, yaaass!!! And That was totally an un-writer-like way to put it, but seriously, Princess Bride is my favorite thing ever! I’ve been watching the movie since I was little, and I read the book a few years ago. The humor, the overall lessons, and the sweetness of the movie never grow old. my siblings and I quote it to each other…[Read more]

@r-j-karas If you want the link, it’s here: :https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Na7Ai10UoL93JNthwMWE4bsOwQlV6iWjxsDsxmMQ_xU/edit?usp=sharing
The concept is interesting, but because I never intend to really share it, I don’t know if I’ll take the time to really edit it.

@kate One of my favorite episodes! Although I’ve always loved the one where Opie falls in love with Thelma-Lou.

@daeus-lamb @kate Let’s just not have anyone die and it’s all good.
Also silly me has another relationship in fiction that’s really good. To Kill a Mockingbird. I’m currently reading it for the first time and it is astounding.

@gabbyj “How to Train Your Dragon” 1&2 are my all time favorite Dreamworks movies! The relationships are great, and how can you resist Toothless!?! I mean it’s dragons!!! (and I totally didn’t scream the whole time Toothless was about to kill Hiccup. Or sob when Stoic died. I didn’t, Honest! *glances around nervously* Do you think they can tell…[Read more]

This is a really good topic! I’ve always noticed that parents are strangely lacking in current fiction, and as I’m working through my teen years, I’m beginning to realize why, especially in literature geared toward young adults: we want to be independent. By giving a character bad parents, or nonexistent ones, and having that character overcome…[Read more]

@kate Love the thief idea!
And maybe include the lost child and make Mona Lisa have to work together with the child to stop the thief from stealing the painting before Lisa can. Just an idea.

@rachel Thank you for looking it over for me!
@r-j-karas I looked it over and changed a few phrases. See what you think.
As for my next project, I’m kind of experimenting with short stories right now, so other than a one I just wrote mostly for myself(although if you want to see it you could ask), I’m working on a fantasy fairy tale spin-off of…[Read more]

So I was in some kind of writing frenzy, and I actually had some time to write this week, so my total is 2,125 words, which makes me really happy! It was on a couple of short stories that I just started, two of which I finished, though I’m not sure if I’ll ever show them to anyone but a couple of my close friends. It was writing anyway, so it…[Read more]

Wow, guys! All of your projects sound amazing! @grace I always end up in the same situation of starting a novel and giving up after several chapters. I have yet to actually finish one.
Like I just said, I haven’t ever finished a full-length book, but I did just finish a short story on my difficulties in actually putting ideas to paper. I posted…[Read more]
