Kianda
The climb up the ladder did not last long. Kianda felt a draft of warm air curling around her, and then she was pulling herself up into a pitch black room where the strange music reverberated off the walls.
Over the music, a deep, slightly familiar voice growled, “By all four Dragons and eighteen Winds, not this again.”
“Goya?” she…[Read more]

@reveriewriter … and @everyone?
My little sister @this-is-not-an-alien set this up. It’s barely up at the moment, but it’s supposed to be this character castle continued. Well, rebooted, since we were doing that anyway. If you want to – no pressure!

Heeyyy! Late is the order of the day, it seems. I had good intentions of replying right away, but events conspired against me and here I am, two days later.
The sand in the Ring would be hot tomorrow, but for now, the air outside was bitingly cold as always. Kianda reveled in the fierce wind, hardly noticing that the metal beneath her was so…[Read more]

I saw a suggestion in the comments of the announcement about having members of the forum moderate it instead of the site team. Maybe they’d consider doing that with enough feedback from all of us??
I mean maaaaaaybe.
I honestly don’t know. We don’t know how long they’ve been debating this decision. Or what the goal is. Or how m…[Read more]

Okay, I won’t actually cuss ’cause I’m actually getting better (small wins) but what the heck?!?!?! Why?!?!?!?

No problem! You should see how bad I am about answering emails🙃.
Kianda
The fact that people kept tumbling out of thin air should not have been terribly surprising to Kianda, considering the circumstances. It certainly put her on edge though. Beside her, Goya cursed and whirled to face the newcomers. If things kept on in this…[Read more]

I remember reading City of Ember! It was fun; I really enjoyed it, but it’s been a while. Maybe I should read it again. I think sometimes I read too much lol. I am currently reading an Amelia Peabody; a mystery series about this woman who’s an Egyptologist and somehow, there always manages to be a murder in her vicinity. She’s…[Read more]

Agatha Christie is a lot of fun! I think one of my favorites by her is the Secret Adversary, though I haven’t read it in a while. I recently read Curtain: Poirot’s last case, and I can’t decide what I think about that. The last book in a series is always kind of sad. Some of my other favorite authors/books are Brandon Sanderson,…[Read more]

Your world sounds pretty cool! I’m afraid I’m generally not very good at world building. When I started writing, I was mildly obsessed with winged beings, so I wrote some about that. Also elemental magic. I’d enjoyed stories involving teams of kids, all with different strengths, so I used that quite a bit. The result was a story…[Read more]

@abrielle and @reveriewriter
Sorry for the late response.(Especially to you @abrielle. And a frosty hello to time blindness, my old nemesis!)
Welcome to the chaos. We welcome more characters to interact with.
For the briefest rundown possible: there is a spider that the characters are running from: every time you kill it, it comes back bigger.…[Read more]

Hi Zee! I’m Lydia. I love writing, reading, and music. Unfortunately, I cannot do art, but I greatly admire those who can. When did you start writing? I started when I was twelve because I also daydream a ton, and I couldn’t focus on school because of it. Writing helped me live a little more in ‘the real world’. Is there an author…[Read more]

Cool! I’ve actually migrated more into a vaguely anime/semi-realistic style over the years myself, and I used colored pencils a lot for a while, but I found myself gravitating toward watercolor as time went on.
I totally get it! my writing started out as disjointed scenes of daydreams I had, but as time went on I started to write…[Read more]

Hi Zee! welcome!
I am @scoutfinch190, I too write and draw and am currently learning digital art on Krita. Having drawn traditionally all my life, this is a big learning curve though lol, but I’m getting the hang of it, vector stuff is a big struggle though🤣 (vector means it’s not made of pixels, so you can zoom in infinitely w/o…[Read more]
