I had a great idea that was totally not inspired by my latest blog post on backstory. XD

What if we cut back and forth between the past and the present, in a way that emphasizes their similarities, but this time (in the present), the hero is able to overcome his fear and defeat the villain?

It would work with just about any of the ideas already suggested. And it would also lend itself well to a short, but complete, story.

What do you think? Is it cliche?
