Ah, yes, I completely get that.  I always thought first drafts must look so much different from the finished product.

Well, let’s see.  It’s a wee bit hard to explain, but in it’s simplest form it’s about a man in the government (in a fantasy world) poisoning an old mysterious tribe, who live separately and who used to cause war and ruin, with something so that they turn–er, it’s hard to phase, but let’s just use this analogy: You know how when something gets rabies, it’s super aggressive and stuff? Well, sufficient to say, he’s doing that to them and placing the infected ones strategically so as to distract the government and to make them think that tribe is trying to rise to power, and so as to sow panic among the people.  So he’s doing that while he tries to unlock an old place where there’s a dark species imprisoned that used to rule and cause terror.  There’s  A LOT more to it, but it’s hard to explain, especially on the internet.  I think it’s less cheesy and stuff in my book than it sounds–or at least that’s what I hope!  But yes, I’m terrible at explaining what books, whether they’re my own or not, are about.
