It’s time to get started writing! For the sake of speed, I am going to suggest we go with @kelly-lundgren idea, as she is one of the writers, so she already has a strong mental idea of what to write. But if the writers (@seekjustice and kelly-lundgren) want to wait and hash out some more brainstorming before they get started, that is fine. The…[Read more]

*Bursts into room, banging on pots and pan* This is the LAST DAY for brainstorming! It isn’t horrible if we need to take more time, but I would like to give the writers and editors as much times as possible. We have almost nailed down the premise, but there needs to be a bit more discussion. What say ye?

Today is the last day for brainstorming! Do we have a premise? @seekjustice and @kelly-lundgren have volunteered to be the writers this month.

@kelly-lundgren and @emgc, Very nice. A golden dragon and raven shape-shifter. Very nice.
@lady-frosttongue and @princess-foo, Yes. I believe Erekdale is very mountain-y. 😉 I’ve saved some visual ideas of what it might look like to the Pinterest board, but if some of you aren’t on there, here are some loose ideas that we have so far.
We got…[Read more]

Hello, Ereki! It is I, your local Worldsmith, Filewriter.
So… we didn’t get all those character profiles before the end of February, but that’s fine. For those of you haven’t written yours yet, feel free to do so now. Just read the instructions at the beginning of this thread. I hope you will.
But… with that said, it’s time for us to move on…[Read more]

@hope-ann We have two writers. @kelly-lundgren and… someone else… I don’t know their username 😛 It’s either @seekjustice or @emgc. I really should write down whose usernames are connected to their actual names.
Then you, Hope, are tentatively an editor, and I am also an editor.

@seekjustice @kelly-lundgren Yay! Let’s win this thing!
Okay, for some reason I forgot to have link sharing on. So NOW everyone can put their word counts on the doc to compete against each other (if they want to. For competition and motivation purposes.).
Here
Sorry about that. -

@karthmin Nope.
In case anyone was wondering… *attempts heavy southern accent* I ain’t from ’round them parts. I live down south, in Georgia.I’m planning on going to Realm Makers. Still working on some of the details, but that is the current plan. Is anyone else planning to go there?

Greetings, fellow Ereki! It is I, Worldsmith. (as we are being official here)
I have started a new Erekdale Worldbuilding thread (obviously) so that we can start forming our guild again! I know our other… two… similar threads didn’t really lead to any great discoveries, but, I’m…[Read more]

Don’t worry. Nothing too drastic is going to be happening. But, there are going to be some changes, which the Guildmasters have been talking about and discussing for a few months now. We believe that these changes will help the forums (both general and guild forums) run more smoothly.
Please head on over to Daeus’ post…[Read more]

Hey everyone!
As your resident Smithing, (assistant to Wordsmith, a.k.a. @filewriter ) I bring to you the latest version of our Erekdale flag! I tried to tie in all of the unique elements that make up Erekdale, and transform it into a flag worthy of being flown across our lands.
What do you think?

The story has been finished! We are slightly over the word limit at 2685/2500, so some trimming needs to be done, but I think we have a really good story! The official editors are @emgc, @sageinthemeadow, and @seekjustice.
You can find the story here. Remember, the prompt was “Write a story with a non-cliche happy ending.”

I said plant, but leave it to half of you guys to come up with a loophole and choose ents. 😀
I really can’t blame you, though. XD I’ve been called an ent before, and I hroomed and huffed, but accepted the compliment anyway. XD
Now drink up on your entwash, because you’ll need it for this next question:
Out of all the places that…[Read more]

Ereki,
We are moving on in our discussion to Growth Arcs! We’ll look especially at which kind of characters this arc tends to suit best of all. Short introduction today, so let’s dive in. 😛
First, a definition to refresh our memories: Growth arcs do not fundamentally change the character, but (as the name implies) simply bring them through a…[Read more]

I know, I haven’t been active. Sorry about that. I’ll try to be.
Anyways, what I thought would be fun and helpful is that this year, for 2019, everyone will post one piece of their writing that they want to be critiqued on! It can be more than one piece,…[Read more]

My dear Ereki,
This week, we will look more closely at the change or transformation character arc. Of the three kinds of character arcs, I think this is one of the most common. If you have heard of the Hero’s Journey, then you’ve heard of the transformation arc.
As I was thinking about it for the past hour or so while puttering about here and…[Read more]
