Can I just say guys, that that was brilliant. *flails* You all worked really hard, and ended up writing a really cool story. It was also a really hard sort of task because ‘prose’ is so broad. But whatever the result, you guys did a stellar job! *applause* I’ve turned it in now, so we just have to wait and…[Read more]

Often it is thought that there are two ways to approach writing: Character driven, or plot driven. However, with well written writing, this does not need to be the case. In fact, it shouldnβt be the case. The two aspects should be interwoven and inseparable.
This also ends up being vital in mastering your suspense. Because, particularly in our m…[Read more]

So, Parimis, it has come to my attention, that having a space to put up tricks that help people know when to use certain words, pieces of grammar, etc, could be helpful. That will save having to hunt through all of the critues and things to find that one gem that someone had.
So, if you have any helpful little tit-bits, feel free to share!

Okay Parimis!
I’ve spent most of today tackling our entry, and have added a lot more character voice. That’s made the prose stronger, but to be honest, ‘unique’ is a rather cryptic phrase. However, we need to cut down a few words. So, cutting back is appreciated!
Once again, here is the…[Read more]

@evelyn @steward-of-the-pen @ariella-newheart @julia @esjohnson I also wrote a poem fairly recently. I submitted it to Story Embers for publication, but, sadly, it was rejected. However, I know a way around that. Everyone, here’s a look at my pride and joy! *gestures to poem dramatically and falls on nose*

STELLAR WORK PARIMIS!!!!!
(Yes, I’m tagging you all cos I really will get confused with all of the scrolling and hunting for what different people have said. :P)
PROSE: Haha, Shakespeare is probably not an ideal thing to be weaving in. Doesn’t fit allllll that well. However, in general, we will need to be working on making the prose really…[Read more]

Hi Parimis!
As you may have gathered, I’m not exactly well at the moment, hence I haven’t even looked at what you’ve done last week. Sorry about that. D:
As it is, seeing that, a) I’m currently a mess, and b) there’s a guild war going on, that you can just give some feedback on how you reckon the annual theme topic is going.
Have you been…[Read more]

Hello Parimis!
If you hadn’t gathered already, you may well have drawn the short straw with this guild. *grimaces* I’m sick again, and hopefully will be diagnosed later today, but prayers are always appreciated. (with any luck I won’t be hospitalised) But yes, prayers for health are always appreciated as I seem to end up with some weird…[Read more]

@cassie-hartfinh Aweome! Thank’s for getting us started. The ending does seem a bit abrupt. I think there needs to be some other conflict like we talked about earlier. That way we’re giving the character something to do as she struggles with the hope thing. That’s going to be hard to do with the word limit, but I think we can pull it off. I once…[Read more]

Okay, sorry that I’ve been kinda chaotic and sporadic and stuff lately guys, but things have kinda been blegh and yeah. Anyways. I am here now and hopefully can make some suggestions.
BASICALLY, whatΒ @ariella-newheart summarised is what we are going with.
I really enjoy the ideas that are being thrown around, and my one concern is that we do…[Read more]

@julia Thank you! And actually…if you’re interested, I have a group of people that are reading Beautiful Murder as I write the first draft, you can totally join it if you want. π I am super excited about this one, as Beauty & the Beast is pretty much my favorite fairy tale ever. (I already wrote one retelling, then there’s this one, and I’ve…[Read more]

Iβm not sure about breaking the 4th dimension though, because I know I did that with my first novel and honestly, that ruined it.
I beg to differ. π
@emily-d @rebecca-w I like the name Bryka, too. Maybe she should be in her upper-teens?

Yeah, I think I might have him writing the will page by page too. (Which is why the first page says they can only read one page at a time.) Maybe I can weave in that he’s hasn’t seen most of his relatives in decades and so this is a way to find out who he really wants to…[Read more]

Everyone’s WIP sound so cool!
Mine I just started last week. It was inspired by a random sentence that popped into my head about a year ago and I tucked away until now. I dusted it off and began anew. Here’s the sentence and I love it as a opening line if I may say so. π

I used to mainly do free verse but lately I’ve been trying to work on my meter and rhyming… rhyming is a pain though. π
Do you guys have a favorite poet?

Anyone??

Okay, all of this sounds absolutely stellar. Like, really guys. Good job. Iβm impressed.
