Hmm, my favorite thing about writing would probably be creating characters, and world-building. I’d definitely recommend Dianne Wynne Jones, though a slight warning she does write mainly surrounding the “witch and wizard” aspect of magic, so if that’s not for you you may not enjoy her. She’s very good with humor, story, and all around just a good wacky read when you need it. 😉
