Hello all!
This week’s (or more, last week’s) lesson is from Martin, and is looking at the pros and cons of typing, and writing by hand.
So, without any further rambling from Jess, let’s see what Martin has to say about notebooks and keyboards!
Things I’ve learned from my own experience with both mediums:
Typing:
Pros:
Typing is fas…[Read more]

Hey guys!
If you hadn’t noticed, we’re three weeks behind! *hides face in shame* However, I’m just going to catch it all up tonight so that we’re back on track!
This particular post was written by yours truly on why we should even write in the first place.
If you’re reading this, the chances are pretty high that you’re a writer. But how oft…[Read more]

@fallen-prince @elisha-starquill Welcome to the guild! 😃 My apologies for being late 😛

@fallen-prince I would recommend them. They write epic fantasy, and agh it’s amazing.
They are, unfortunately, not all 100% clean. Rothfuss is one who I groan when I read it because the story is amaaaazing, but then there are moments where you just want to strangle the author. Sanderson is clean and good though. *nodnod* If you like fantasy,…[Read more]

Results are up! We didn’t do so well this time, but we did know that. 😉 A fair few people didn’t get their counts in on time, and those of us who did, didn’t write a ton. Myself well and truly included.
But guess what, guys? There’s a good chance that we’ll have a word war in July when we’re Camp NaNo-ing to absolutely thrash the other guilds!…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart Okay, I’m not a homeschooler, but yes. I do watch Blimey Cow. XD@christlover Also, yes! Using the Biomes for world building is partly what they’re there for!
@fallen-prince I stand by my initial judgment: You have a good taste in books. *nods* To approach what often turns out to be a controversial topic, are you a reader of…[Read more]

@fallen-prince I totally would, but I have like six other stories in the queue first. <:P So sorry, man, but your name is on, so I WILL come back to yours. 😉
Also, condolences for your turtles. I missed this vital piece of information somehow.

@elisha-starquill @fallen-prince Well met, fellow guild members! *bows* Welcome to Parimi Alca! 🙂 I was the new guild member a couple months back, so we can be newbies together. 😉 For both of you, what are some of your goals here on Story Embers? Do you feel called to write as a hobby, career, ministry, etc.?
@fallen-prince I too love anything…[Read more]

J.A.Penrose started the topic Camp NaNo Anyone? in the forum Announcements 7 years ago
Hello all, and welcome to the month before July, or more specifically, the month before a lot of writers go completely mental and write a heap. 😉
If you are new to the vast quantity of writing forums out there, April and July are Camp NaNo seasons. Camp NaNo is an online writing “camp” where you and up to 19 fellow writers band together to try…[Read more]

@fallen-prince Hello and welcome fellow Tolkien fan! *happy claps* Sorry that I didn’t respond to you guys arriving much. But it’s stellar to have new people here! (and to have guild members who actually welcomed them. *facepalm*)
@elisha-starquill I can’t believe it! Fellow chocolate hater! Yay! You are 100% welcome to the guild, and I can’t…[Read more]

@fallen-prince Ooh, halflings are cool. I may have one or two of those in my book. 😉 I definitely agree with @elisha-starquill about the names you chose; they’re fantastic.
@elisha-starquill I’ve only ever tried playing two instruments, flute and piano, but I sadly don’t have the aptitude for either. 🙁 My WIP is about a girl named Ariella (I…[Read more]

@fallen-prince @elisha-starquill Welcome to our crazy and wonderful guild! We’ve had lots of good times here, so I can’t wait for you to join in the fun (and learning)!
A little about me: I mainly write fantasy, I’m an INFJ (probably), I’m a homeschool student, and I don’t hate chocolate, but I respect people who do (it takes a lot of courage to…[Read more]

Just realized that I asked y’all tons of questions without introducing myself. Sorry!

Welcome! It is great to have y’all. Now I must ask you a series of questions:
What are y’all’s favorite: Songs? Movies? Books? Quotes?
Do you have any: Pets? Siblings? Interesting Talents?
Can you: Speak another language? Play any sports?
Are you still in school, and if…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart – Haha, Google was confused because I made it up. A trinstamentalist is a person who plays three instruments. I play piano, classical guitar, and violin, though my violin skills are currently *cough cough* questionable. 😛
What’s your current WIP about?

@fallen-prince Yours sounds really cool! The cultures of the Celts and Vikings are interesting to read about. Can you tell me more about the story and characters?
What is your fantasy world like?
My fantasy world takes some of the culture and biomes from medieval Europe, but there are various different peoples, creatures, and flora. I’m not good…[Read more]

@fallen-prince Ooh, I haven’t read the ones you mentioned but I want to. I really like The Silmarillion, though. It inspired me to create an origin story for one of my fantasy worlds.

@fallen-prince Oh neat! I love those kinds of stories.
You can’t change your tag, but you can change your displayed name. You’ll still be @fallen-prince, but if you go to your profile you’ll find the option to change the name.
I hope that helps. (:
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever met a Simeon. That’s a really cool name.
