Good morning, Avensers!
Apologies that this is so late. I really meant to do it yesterday, but had dinner guests which meant cooking and cleaning and both took a lot longer than I expected. But here we are now and I’ve got the first topic of the year.
Second Act
The second act comprises roughly 50% of the book. This is where most of your…[Read more]

How did you do with your goals over the break? What goals do you have for this week?
My goals changed throughout the break. My original goal was to do editing. Then I decided to do a total website rehaul instead. And succeeded in that.
This week, I NEED to finish editing my novella.

My Christmases were all wonderful! I actually ended up doing three celebrations. The first one earlier in December with my family, the second one Christmas Eve/Christmas Day at church with my family who came to visit me and my husband and also with some of Bill’s extended family at his grandparents farm. The third one was Christmas afternoon with…[Read more]

I know I’m late on both counts. Sorry about that. It’s been a whirlwind week. I ended up visiting my family unexpectedly (for fun) and didn’t bring any of my notes along for this week’s weekly lesson thingy.
Until next week, how about we discuss how our Christmas was and any goals/resolutions (especially for writing) we may have? (I’ll post in…[Read more]

I’ve read several romance novels, both Christian and “clean,” and made two main observations: many of the stories are unrealistic and follow the same basic plotline.
Female meets male. They can’t stand each […]

I really, really liked this!! Romance can either melt my heart or make me roll my eyes… And ruin the whole book.

Thanks for this good article, Faith. I think a lot of people-myself included-have a bad view of “Christian Romance Novels” and for good reason. But we can change that. Love stories don’t have to be cringe-worthy, they can be both moving and beautiful. Of course, writing a good, non-cliché romance is hard…but the extra work is worth it. ❤️ Let’s change the way people view this genre!!
