Vicq glanced at the man, who was about her and Aiden’s age, who was slumped against the wall. She looked back at the temple. She grimaced. Ew, temples. Bosses always hid in temples in Emberblast and it was always tiring to fight in such small quarters.

so, Lex thinks that Akinlie (her villain) is trying to take over Avery’s body, so she’s flushing out all the bad magic in his system with hers, okay?

When this happens, he should go numb for a minute or so b/c her magic is shorting out his nerve endings

“Get off of him!” Calexia roared and lifted her arms up, twisting her hands in different directions as sparks dripped from the air. They landed on the Dragon’s hide and it hissed, skittering away from Avery.
