I don’t often write lullabies, but I was inspired so . . . here it is. Enjoy and critique!

    Blue Yonder Lullaby
Sometimes I can’t help but wonder
What is beyond the blue yonder
Is there anyone who sees me
What if these dark heavens are empty

Am I really left all alone
Small and lonely without a home
Here I am, a crying child,
In a cold wilderness so wild.

Above the skies fade into black
Huddled down, I cry with my back
To the chilly winds of the North
From the bitterness that’s blowing forth

As the light fades into night
It brims with stars twinkling bright
But one shines brighter than the rest
Singing a song of hope, it attests.

    Someone lives beyond the sky
    Remember He stays ever nigh
He’s listens to the lonely cries
Up to Him lift your teary eyes

    He, Who crafted creation,
    Hearkens to each supplication
He cares for all the things He made
By His hand lilies are arrayed

    He, Who reigns with majesty
    Sent to us divine royalty
His Son for all the people died
On that day He was crucified

He, Who did these awesome deeds
Cares and provides for all our needs
He knows sometimes we feel alone
So invites to be His own.

    Now gazing above in wonder
I know there is none Who’s fonder
With this Lord to cradle this heart
As His I’ll live wholly set apart
