This is more of a simple little song. It’s one I wrote several years ago  . . . it may need some revising. Any ideas would be welcome.

 

The River
There is a river flowing down from Calvary

A stream, overflowing with grace and mercy

Brimming over its banks with love

There’s a fountain, gushing from the foot of the Cross

Where all my suffering, sin, and shame is all loss

Redeemed by the Father above

There is a river flowing down from Calvary

A stream, overflowing with grace and mercy

Brimming over its banks with love

And so, from this pure, holy river I will drink

Delight in its depth

Into its waters crystal clear I will sink

Get lost in its rolling waves

Its redeeming waters flow for evermore

Never running dry

And all who will drink from its tide will thirst no more
