I read the first book of that series twice, and both times just…meh. I love mythology! So it should have been a shoe-in for me, but I just really struggled with getting through the book. I was so bored! The story was okay, the characters were okay, but I got so tired of reading it. Every time I picked it up, I felt like I was trudging through…[Read more]

I’ve gotten in almost a thousand words tonight! Still working and may get a few hundred more. Will update with the night’s tally later!

I wrote more this weekend than I have in a long time. It was only 1500 words or so, but I’ve been busy with work so I’m happy to get anything. So, this is well-timed! Maybe I can push out a few more words!!

This gives so much to chew on and think about! I’m intrigued by the forward motion concept. The idea that each individual scene should end in such a way that the protagonist cannot go back to the way things were is new to me, and very curious. It sounds dramatic, but it also kind of makes sense.

@wordsmith Really?! Yas!! Tell her I miss her and she needs to follow up on my email! <3 Thank you!
@pookiemonster Oh, yeah! I forgot about the Fawkes articles! The book looks so good and I’ve heard great things about it. Maybe I should pick it up, too.

@missfaeriekaiti I’d be curious to see how the notebook turns out for you! Haha, and video games are definitely draining, but oh-so-fun!
@brandon-miller Great Forum Silence! Bahaha! I love it! It (YWW) truly is! How’s work going for you? Have you made any progress on Beta Sun lately?

Welcome back! Yeah, I miss her tons! She will always be in Rillumen’s heart! I think the biggest thing you missed was just that the weekly activities/theme posts are now shared among all the guilds and guildmasters. And good for you for taking time off and taking care of you!!

@missfaeriekaiti That is such a good point. Sometimes I totally have to unwind after work, decompress. But it’s hard to find the motivation to write when your brain just feels like mush. And I LOVE going outdoors in the sunshine to read!! Have you tried writing in a notebook outside?
Thank you friend! I appreciate it so much! <3

I think beta reading–feedback and critique in general–is one of the strongest ways to improve your writing, to find inspiration and encouragement, and one of the most important parts of the writing process. I’m very particular about how I give feedback and I do my best to keep constructive as well as encouraging things in mind when I do. I’ve f…[Read more]

Man, I don’t think I could survive without my to-do lists! I can relate to so many stages listed here. I was in college for 5 years and it put my writing on the back burner. I did still write some; I even got to take two classes on creative writing my freshman year. But my writing, for the most part, came to a screeching halt. And my creativity…[Read more]

@rolena-hatfield oh my gosh! Thank you so much! You’re comments were extremely helpful!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 🙂 I’ve been so exited about this story! There’s several more scenes written already, but I’ve kind of got to figure some stuff out before I add any more words. Biggest issue so far is pov :/ I don’t know what to do!

@missfaeriekaiti No, I haven’t yet! But I did see the giveaway and totally snagged it to read at a later date! I just started Snowflakes, the compilation of short stories that goes with the Snow Queen books. I heard Red Rope of Fate was basically her tribute to LOTR, so I’m super excited! XD
Yes, so agreed! Stereotypical and shallow are d…[Read more]

Man, these are some tough questions!
When I think of happy endings, I think everything worked out for the good–which can sometimes include some sad events, just like in life–and I think everything worked out the way it was supposed to. When I think of cliche endings…I guess mostly I think cheesy, lack of depth. Also, I think cliche doesn’t…[Read more]
