Thanks to the recent word war, I actually finished the fifth and final book of a fantasy series I’ve had bouncing around in my head for years. The first draft is 114,107 words long, about 14K words over the word count of the other books. I have grown up a lot while writing this series. As the books progress, you can definitely see the d…[Read more]

Hi Guys! Today, we’re hearing from Faith, and looking at how you can balance your writing life with the rest of your life.
24 hours. 1,440 minutes. 86,400 seconds. That’s how much time we have each day. And yet, it seems like we never have enough hours, minutes, or seconds to get everything done. What do you do when you can’t seem to squ…[Read more]

Okay. Guys, the submission is in and judged, and we did great! I’m still waiting to hear when we’re meant to announce things, cos everything is a bit of a mess right now.
Also…word war?? That’s…not on the calendar. Or in the chat. But okay then. Um. Yes. Apparently, things there have changed too. I’ll make a post on it, but…[Read more]

ARI!!! Thank God for you!!!
LOL! Yeah, I was getting a little worried we wouldn’t have anything before the deadline. xD
If I may provide an example of what I think is the BEST conversion story EVER, Hope Ann did amazing with a character named Haydn in her novella, Shadows of the Hersweald.
I agree! Shadows of the Hersweald is a…[Read more]

This course/section won’t be super practical for right now, but maybe we can be using it later, and being sure to build up and appreciate the amazing relationships with other…[Read more]

Oooookay. So, I think there is a war going on. Not 100% sure, because there are high levels of chaos in the guildmaster realm, but here we go.

It’s been forever since I’ve said anything. And agh I am so sorry.
This time, I was aware that I wouldn’t be about. However, in the hectic mess of life, I had assumed I had asked someone to step in until things at this end were sorted out. So, either I totally forgot to do that, or no one actually took it on and it got forever lost in the…[Read more]

Sorry for the delay!
Structurally, why are you doing what you’re doing? These are separate scenes, because they’re separated by time and/or space, but you don’t often see chapters this short in published stories, except in children’s chapter books. One of the primary functions of a chapter is the opportunity for emphasis–the first and final l…[Read more]

@cassie-hartfinh Awesome, thank youuuu!!!
Just for a little bit of background info (and because I like talking about my WIPs 😀 ), Kiel built a time machine to travel into the future to get a present for Hazel’s birthday (Hazel’s a girl, btw), but it malfunctions and he gets stuck in the past instead. Hazel, meanwhile, is freaking out because…[Read more]

So. I have this REALLY BAD habit of not putting anywhere close to enough stuff in my chapters. I know I need to flesh these two out in particular, but they’re so short I dunno really where to start. Any critique at all is appreciated at this point…
