You guys are all doing so well! *applause* I’ve just written a short poem since I last updated, but my contest entry rough draft is done! Now time to edit it! And hopefully I’ll be able to add some more words to the count. So my total is 1096 so far.
@cassie-hartfinh You’re crazy! Good job!!

She had three days to save her family from being killed by the assassins.
Three days to stop their country from losing their only defence.
Three days to live up to her destiny
Three days to survive.
Three days.
Countdowns, as a general rule, often add suspense into a story very nicely. Provided that you have it relate well to the plot,…[Read more]

@ariella-newheart Oooh, awesome word count! Good work!

Anywayyyy, my word count since the beginning of the month is around 15,000. I don’t know if I’ll have time to do much more, what with Thanksgiving and my birthday coming up, but we’ll see.

@cassie-hartfinh Glad you’re doing better! And wow. Good work! That’s about ten times my score. xD Also, I love the snippet! I was very intrigued by Rona’s hesitance up until the end, and now I really want to know what is going on. *happy applause*

Quick task: Look up, ‘plot twists’ on whatever internet server you use. A lot of those things are just lists of handy plot twists for you to use! Useless.
I mean, honestly. Try to insert these ‘ready made plot twists’ into your story. How random would that be???
A lot of people think that if their story is flt, and lacking in something, the…[Read more]

@cassie-hartfinh Hmmm, main tip there, is to read a whole heap of things, (short stories to save time) that are written very well in that voice. Also, try to read aloud. Read out what you have written in 3rd person past tense so that you can hear it, and then it will be a bit more secure in your mind.
Also, you could very carefully and…[Read more]

@cassie-hartfinh Okay!
This is what I’ve got so far. It’s making me laugh to write it, but here we go: (Title maybe something like: Ballad of the Hungry Poet? xD I don’t know.)
My stomach growls and I begin to dream,
Of banana splits and chocolate ice-cream
Some celery sticks and popcorn strings,
And many peanut butter covered things.
Of pies and… -

@cassie-hartfinh I just used CreateSpace through Amazon, it’s super cheap and easy printing on demand! 😉
The book is called “The Three Paintings,” but it was a kind of vague title so it’s easier to look it up under my name (Bethany Meckle). It’s on Amazon or CreateSpace.com.

@cassie-hartfinh I’ve self-published the book of Aesop’s Fables, and given a few of the copies away, but only sold like 4 or 5. I’m working on putting up all those stories on my website for free anyway, though. My brother is also quite an author so I’m hoping to help him get a book published sometime in the near future.
