Today’s the last day for me. I’ve been out most of the day too. Unavoidable commitments. Otherwise I would have stayed home and attempted winning NaNoWriMo despite having fallen behind.

@wordsmith You might be able to write that fast. But if I wrote 500 in fifteen minutes, I’m afraid most of them would be terrible. As much as I’d liek more words, I’ve got to go for quality over quantity right now. in fact I should probably be piecing the story together and editing bit before I write more. I’m working on something new instead though

Tricky.
I’m partial to the Scarlet Pimpernel, and agree he’s morally one of the best. But valiant wouldn’t be the first word I’d pick for him. We do need it defined.
Westley, yes, valiant fits, but he’s not as compassionate to enemies, or ready to rescue just anyone as the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Robin Hood, it really depends on which Robin Hood…[Read more]

@wordsmith I’m doing my best to keep ahead of you. I’ve got lots of scenes to rewrite due to POV changes, so I should be good to go for a bit.
Rock- step- I taught myself how to do that once.

@mlbolangerauthor I don’t have much to say on this topic, but I thought it could be helpful to mention a couple of Christian novels that deal with some of these things.
Finding Fireflies by A. C. Williams, deals with trafficking and prostitution without shoving undesirable things in your face. It doesn’t avoid them, but doesn’t describe them.…[Read more]

I’m at 6932, and good progress on my story. And it’s 11pm.

Alternatively, some people just haven’t been putting their count of the spread sheet because they are doing NaNo. I like that idea better.

643 so far today, which brings me to 6,543 (those numbers are weirdly similar), and our total to 76,688.
That number tells me most of us aren’t doing NaNoWriMo.

@wordsmith I’m doing my little bit. But my main goal is on finishing this book by the end of the month, and I’ve been amazed at how much of the first draft works, so I’ve not been writing a lot of new stuff. Typing up hand written stuff may be no quicker that my best writing speed, but it takes a bit less thought.
But I’ll see what I can do. I’ll…[Read more]

@scribbles I wish I’d procrastinated productively on Monday too. I had just as many things to do then, but I ended up just reading a lot. Yesterday it wasn’t so much procrastination as some priorities squeezing others out.
We’ve passed 25,000 now!

Not quite as much as I’d like. Today I
didn’thaven’t (the day’s not done yet) gotten a heap written. I’m supposed to be working something for a debate that I really should have gotten finished at least a week ago. But I ended up spending several hours working my resume instead. -

@brandon-miller I’m not sure what I’ll do with the word war. I’m sort of doing NaNo, but I’m re-writing. And I’m working on a novella, and don’t intend to reach 50,000 words with it. Maybe I’ll find something else new to work on when I’m done with it, maybe I’ll just quit and get it polished. I don’t know yet.
But all up that makes it rather…[Read more]

Congratulations Parimi Alca! Great job!
And maybe I’ll be able to remember your name, instead of just ‘Jess Penrose’s guild that has a two word name’.

3,325 total.
Here’s the beginning of the story that had the 3:45 plot bunny. Nearly shared that instead, this is less weird.
My train hadn’t come. I was stranded. I sat on the platform, huddled under my umbrella as the rain drizzled down. The next train wasn’t until a quarter to midnight, nearly too late to hope I would still make my flight. But…

@selah-chelyah Ooops, missed that. A truce seems like the best idea. It’s all subjective, and as far as I know the only people who’ve changed guilds, are those who’ve moved out to start new ones. We don’t know what it’s like inside the other guilds.

@ashira Beyond the Mask!!!!!!!!!!
Lumenites don’t need to defend themselves. We just shine. And write a lot of words. That’s one of the reasons we’ve not said much. We’ve been busy.

@brandon-miller It’s already Wednesday here, so don’t count those last 404 words of mine.

I got another 404 done. Writing not found. (the next bit of writing, I’ve got this bit.)
