Hey guys,
Last weekend I hit up the theater with my fam to see The Incredibles 2. After the movie, we all decided that it was adequate entertainment, but it didn’t hold a candle to the heart of the original. What did y’all think? What worked and what didn’t? What do you love about the first one? Did you love the second one for the same reas…[Read more]

Hey guys,
We’ve got two big things going down this week.
First, FEEDBACK FORMS. The Story Embers staff and Guildmasters are looking to make these guilds even way more better. To do that, we need your guys’ thoughts. So, we’ve put together this short survey for everyone to go through instead of doing an activity this week. Please take a few…[Read more]

Welcome to the Story Embers community!
I’m Brandon, a home school grad and university punching-bag. I’ve been around Story Embers for a while now, and was on staff at KP before that. Glad to have you around!
What do you write? Do you read a lot? How’d you hear about Story Embers?
Have a grand stay!

@graceabounds2129 I can say there will be another one, but I can’t say right when it will be. Once the guildmasters get feedback from our survey and work on different changes to the guild, we’ll see what the plans are moving forward.

@graceabounds2129, Hi. Let me reassure you, you are where you’re supposed to be! So don’t worry about that. (I’ve been bad at contacting new members, sorry about that.)
I’m 19 (20 later this month). Glad you keep finding new things! Hope you still love it!
CRITIQUES!
I kind of like this topic.
How often do I critique? I’ll split this i…[Read more]

Anyway, we’ll get them next time. I want to heap praise on @wordsmith and @graceabounds2129 again because they were awesome. Nice work everyone with the ideas too, that was cool.

Mr. S is Daniel Schwabauer, creator of the One Year Adventure Novel curriculum and derailer of my life (in all the coolest ways.)
And no, there wasn’t a speaker I didn’t like. That would have been sad. -

One strength that descriptions have is their ability to set the mood for a scene. For example, if my character is walking in the woods I can describe either the spring breeze brushing through the trees or the hollow, cracking leaves whisping through the eeire silence. In these descriptions I’m describing the same thing, but I’m creating a t…[Read more]

First of HEY GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK! I’m sorry life has been like that, but you’ve got this and hey reorganizing everything isn’t the worst use of time.
As far as story goes… YAY NOVELS. They’re a thing I like. Duh. Personally, I’m biased toward fantasy, and that opener is interesting, but if I had to advise, I’d say stick to the…[Read more]
