@Andrew You’re welcome! Glad I could be of some help.
It sounds like you’re getting a bit overwhelmed with trying to capture the magnificence of the world around you. And that’s exactly what makes our job as writers so hard, because it’s one thing to have a beautiful, perfect idea in your head, and a completely other thing to try to put it down…[Read more]

@andrew if you want to learn more about the FiNi loop, you might want to check out some blogs and articles on it. I frequently visit sites like psychologyjunkie, introvertdear, and personality growth. Because I could spend hours researching this stuff. Oh, wait I do.😜 Mbti definitely isn’t the answer to very problem, but it’s a great tool for…[Read more]

@andrew Hey there! Fellow homeschool graduate here! *high-fives* I actually have the opposite problem, where I get writer’s block for months at a time, and I can’t think of new ideas for the life of me. Instead I get caught up in the mechanics of writing, so I edit as I go instead of just moving forward. But I can relate about the slightly o…[Read more]

Im glad my tips somewhat helped!
Yeah I’m homeschooled as well so while it is nice to be able to focus, sometimes I am just pleading for some socializing so I don’t explode.
Hmm… it depends on how you define “insanity”
I am a very strange person so If you get to know the real me, you will think I’m actually insane lol
There are…[Read more]

Hey, thanks for reaching out on here.
What you’re describing between your two posts here might be a health issue, so I strongly suggest talking to a doctor about your frustrations with these thoughts, if you can. You’re describing a couple big symptoms of ADHD, though that of course by no means says that you definitely have ADHD.…[Read more]

Good morning! (At least its morning for me)
This happens to me all the time. People think writing is easy but it isn’t, and this is a common struggle we all face as writers. It seems like I either have a thousand different ideas in my head for 6 different plot ideas or I can’t even think of a way to describe how someone is walking.
The…[Read more]

Hey Andrew, from the many want-to-be authors or writers I’ve talked with, this seems to be a common difficulty. People have so many ideas that it seems that one of these things happen:
They aren’t able to pick on of their ideas and just keep jumping from idea to idea.
They try to shove too many ideas into one story.
They start a story,…[Read more]

I think they’re just ordinary goldfish, though I’m not 100% certain. A friend of ours bred them for a while and gave us a few. They don’t look particularly odd though, so I’m guessing they’re just normal ones.
@wordsmith Thank you! I have an Instagram account dedicated to it, so I discuss a lot of stuff on there (my handle is…[Read more]

@andrew – Haha! You an say that again. Life certainly doesn’t always go as one might expect.
And that sounds really neat. I’m not a goldfish person, but I know the kinds of crazy detail that can go into niche business type things.
I’d love to read a thing or two. Here’s my email: buddy@buddylieberman-martialarts.com

@andrew – Okay first off, taking the career path of an entrepreneur is awesome. College is cool, but what you’re talking about is an underrated way of going about life. In fact, that’s what I’m doing right now. Go for it, man. And yeah, martial arts is a lot of fun to write about. Probably harder to make a career out of than gold-fish, but my…[Read more]

@andrew Lyrebirds are so cool! I have a fun memory associated with the false alarms. We went camping in Northern Idaho last year, and our camp site was home to some very bold Canada Jays. We frequently saw them around the camping grounds, and sometimes they would perch in the trees right above us while we ate breakfast. We would also hear Red…[Read more]

Wow, that’s quite an array of animals! I really wanted guinea pigs and hermit crabs when I was little, but we ended up getting a dog and it was love at first sight for me. Since then, I’ve also got four horses and three more dogs. My first dog and my old horse died a few years ago, so currently I have three of each. My dream pet in the…[Read more]

Hello! I don’t think we’ve met, but I wanted to jump on here and say that I love animal nonfiction! I used to write articles about native wildlife for my local newspaper and I loved doing it. I wish I still had time. I’m also I’m a dog trainer, and I write heaps of things on training, behaviour and genetics!
It’s lovely to meet you 😀

Spoilers of yet-unpublished books aren’t uncommon in writing forums; I think most writer-readers understand and aren’t especially bothered by it. Just-for-fun books are great, though; I should write more of those, lol.
Oh, cool! I’d be curious to hear what you think of it when you’ve had the chance to read it. 🙂

@andrew I read a very similar book by the same author! It’s called The Genuis of Birds, and it deals with the different forms of intelligence in birds. One of the things that I found very interesting was her point that humans tend to have a very limited view of intelligence. We tend to focus on Corvids, because their intelligence is the most si…[Read more]

@andrew – Apologies for taking so long to respond.
Thank you!
I know this is a bit of an unfair response…but, my favorite non-fiction to write is anything that seems like it needs writing. Recently, that’s been martial arts. As a lifelong martial artist, I have a lot to explore in that field, and I’ve really enjoyed writing about it. I also rea…[Read more]

@andrew Phoenixes seem to be cropping up more in recent years, which is cool. They have a lot of potential.
That sounds cool! So what is the bird society like, without the villain’s influence?
