Megyn’s heart twisted inside of her as his cheeks glistened with tears. Blinking back the ones clouding her view, she lifted her hands.

I’m sure no one in there will care for him, she signed, As far as I know, none of the guards have have any medical training. I afraid . . . they won’t have much mercy on a Sparrow suspect.

Her lip quivered. Forcing it still, she went on, I – I might be able to. . . I’ll have to speak with the Warden and with my Squad Commander. But I will do my best. 

Out loud she whispered softly as her eyes brightened, I had promised I wouldn’t forget him . . ., maybe now I can really keep that promise.
