A lump formed in Kedori’s throat. No. He can’t. . .

Meeting the young woman’s eyes, he signed rapidly, tears trickling down his cheeks. If he gets infected, he could die. Isn’t there some way we could stop it? Couldn’t someone care for him in there? Would they let you?

A wet nose touched his arm. He looked down as Pasha let out a soft whine and gazed up at him. Swallowing hard, he rubbed the dog’s head. It’s okay, he signed to it, forcing his tears back.

I’m thinking that they might let Megyn come in to take care of Kiet, but wouldn’t let him be taken to the hospital unless he got sick enough to need constant care to live. So. . . looks like that’s going to have to happen. *rubs hands* It would probably take a day or so for infection to set in, though, so we’ll have a little bit of a time stretch before then.
