In the meantime, here’s Rin’s next part.
Rin shielded his eyes from the glaring autumn sun. It was not a welcome sight this early in the morning after two sleepless nights of work. He hadn’t heard anything from Kenma since the night of the raid, which he was counting as a good thing. It meant that no-one had arrested him yet, and they were hopefully in another part of the city.
And that also meant Sunmi was safe. Rin hadn’t seen their younger sister in so long, since he’d taken up a job with the government actually. It hurt him, but it was necessary.
Rin inwardly groaned as he entered his office and saw all the paperwork that still needed done. He sat down tiredly, resting his head on his desk. There was a knock on the door.
Rin sat up straight as an official opened the door. “Commander Amber? They’d like you to question one of the sparrows that were arrested two nights ago.”
Rin raised an eyebrow. “Which one?”
“The boy. He just woke up and ate. The girl’s still sleeping.”
Rin sighed. “Alright. I’ll be right there. What room?”
“Room 6. It’s the most secure.
__________________________________________________________
Rin closed the door behind him as he approached the sparrow. He sat down across from him, checking the clipboard of information that they guards had given him. Nothing really stood out to him in particular.
Name: Singkae Hart
Age: 18
Job: Seemingly unemployed
Family/Relations: None on record
Other Information: Strangely has no family record, seems to be slightly mentally unstable.
The next few lines caught Rin’s eye.
Talks about people not on any record in the city and other places like they’re real. Says his family is from a place called: Victorialle
Has a strange device on his wrist, and one in his ear
Doesn’t seem dangerous, so has been simply handcuffed to steel table
Rin set down the clipboard, studying the young man. He was looking at him with determination, something uncommon with most prisoners. His blonde hair was messy and needed a trim, and his outfit was all black with lots of loops, pockets, and armor-type padding. He certainly seemed out of place in Outopia.
He opened the backpack that had been confiscated from him, digging through the contents. The blonde watched him silently.
There was a large utility belt inside, along with some vials of smoky chemicals and some strange devices. Two cables and some large hooks were tucked into a pocket.
Rin set down the backpack, turning to Singkae. “So, where are you from?”
Singkae’s expression turned guarded. “Why? It doesn’t amount to much anyways. Others have already told me that they can’t send me back.”
Rin frowned. “I’d like to know because I’m the same way. I come from a place that’s not on any of our maps, and I’d like to know what your life was like. Don’t worry, no one else can hear us currently. The report says you have something in your wrist?”
Singkae nodded slowly. He swiped two fingers over his left wrist, and a floating blue projection appeared over it.
Rin leaned forward a little. “Okay. Listen. I want to clear you and get you out of here, so just answer my questions and listen to what I say, and hopefully I can do that. Will you help me out?”
Singkae hesitated but nodded again. “Yes. I need to get back to my family.”
