This one was a spontaneous inspiration. The phrase ‘facing the God I know’ hit me and I couldn’t shake it. So here is one of my newest ones. As usual, enjoy-share-and critique all you want!
Facing (The God I Know)
As the enemies encompass me with their spears
As my eyes are filled by the pain’s bitter tears
As the oceans seek to wash me to my grave
I know there’s a God standing here, ready to save.Through the darkest of times and the fiercest of foes
There’s a fortress stronger than forces or storms
When the sorrows whelm me in depths full of woes
I can face them all for He is the God I knowThe God I know gave all His love to redeem
He made the moon and the sun’s golden gleam
The God I know reached down to save this soul
He restored each breech and made it whole
I know the God I know can save me todayThere’s is strength found in a trust in His Word
There’s a sharpness tempered in the blade of His sword
When the giants mock at the child of the Lord
Here’s where I stand, facing them for the God I knowThe God I know walked on the mighty deep
Aroused the dead from an eternal sleep
The God I know promised to safely keep
His redeemed in time of urgent need
I know the God I know can save me todayIn the battle, in storm, in the turmoil within
Whether struggling, sorrowing or shadow
In the ashes, in waves, in the pain within
In the strength of the God I know I can stand (repeat)
