@annethestorynerdgirl I’m not an expert like @daeus-lamb is, but I don’t think that it would be too bad. I introduced a side character at the end of the story once because she was important in getting people somewhere (I’m trying not to spoil my story! 😐 🙂 ). I don’t think it will confuse readers too much, and if you are still considering having them be possible MCs for a sequel you should definitely add them in. If you just have random MCs for a sequel it would be even more confusing! (Backup people doesn’t sound dumb by the way! 🙂 )
