This one I wrote a couple years ago. I’ve revised it some since then but it is still one of my personal favorites. . . “The Almighty”
(V1) Have you considered the Almighty,
The King of kings and glory?
He stirs up oceans with His power.
With understanding calms seas.
He binds the waters in thick black clouds
And makes the darkness His shroud.
Deep calls to deep at the sound of His majesty.
(Chorus) Let all the earth fear the Lord Jesus,
The God of glory and power.
He’s excellent and most glorious.
The mountains smoke in the hour
He touches hills. Rainbows clothe His throne.
God of justice, honor and majesty
The Almighty.
(V2) He laid the earth into its cornerstone
And clothed the horse with thunder.
The eagle flies by His wisdom alone.
He gave the frost its crown of ice,
The ground its carpet of emerald green,
And skies its clouds for a screen.
Storms calm to peace at the word of His majesty.
(Repeat chorus)
(Bridge) I see these mighty works of His hand
And fall on my face.
Would He want a worm like me to stand
In the lands of light and glory?
Yet, the King of nations, Builder of mountains
Lord of stars and princes, founder of fountains-
He turns, arms spread wide, and calls me to His majesty.
(V3) Have you considered the Almighty
The King of kings and glory?
He laid down His glory and honor
And came to die on Calvary.
Then Jesus rose with grace and sovereignty
Redeeming souls that were lost like me
Now we are freed by the mercy of His majesty.
Let all the earth praise the Lord Jesus,
The God of mercy and power.
He’s compassionate and glorious.
His servants bless His name ever
And forever. Anthems clothe His praise
God of justice, honor and majesty
The Almighty.
That’s that. Comments, critiques and anything else you want to say is welcome.
