Yay! Did you hear that she’s writing the Notorious Virtues? It’s something related to Rebel of the Sands, but I forget what.

Welp, I say I’ll be more active, and I’m not on for almost a month.
@elisha-starquill I’ll check that out! Nope, I haven’t Great Expectations quite yet. Yeah, the trilogy was good; I’d also highly recommend the Four Kingdoms series by Melanie Cellier for clean Christian fiction.
Cool! I’ve written a bit of poetry lately; I might go back and…[Read more]

@elisha-starquill Hi! Thank you!
Right now I’m reading the Becoming Beauty trilogy by Brittany Fichter. It’s Christian fiction, and has been pretty good. It’s one of my friend’s favorites. (@/corkybookworm, but she’s not in the guild so she can’t see this.) You? And yeah! That’s really exciting! We’ve done really well overall with the win and all…[Read more]

I’m sorry I’ve been so inactive here for so long, but hopefully I’ll be more active now! (To be honest, I haven’t written anything in months… But at least I’ve read articles, stories, and poems, critiqued works, and read a lot of books.) A HUGE congratulations to all of you for winning a guild war!!! That’s so awesome! I’ll have to…[Read more]

Hi! I’m sorry; I’ve been really inactive here of late. I’ve been part of the guild now since… looks like August 25, wow!
My favorite right now is the Restoration series by Terri Blackstock. It’s the best Christian fiction I’ve ever read. Highly recommend that one. The Four Kingdoms series by Melanie Cellier is another great Christian Fiction…[Read more]

That is totally fine. :] I’m really inactive right now too. Just too many cool things going on. <:]
Thank you so SO much for recommendations! I'll definitely keep an eye out for those. Oh man, Rebel of the Sands is one of my favorites. <3 Thanks!

So, I’ve been reading the Ask the Reader booklet from Story Embers, and often as I go through genres I read a lot of, I recall book series that fulfill what these readers want more of beautifully and are incredibly well-written. I was wondering if any of you also have these, and please share them if you do!

*waves madly* HELLO! I like poetry! *waves even more madly* This is my favorite poem I’ve written. It’s a Dystopian story poem with a negative character arc.
They took my heart.
They burned it to ashes.
They tear us apart.
Life weakly flashes. They do what they want.
They destroy people’s lives.
From safety they taunt
All those with knives.I w…[Read more]

Hi everyone! While I don’t consider myself a historical fiction writer, I’ve enjoyed playing around with writing short stories focusing around events of history. It’s a great way to practice research and the like, I think. I thought I’d pop by here since no one else has yet. (My main two I’ve written are about the Boston Tea Party and an argument…[Read more]

Hello, it’s my biome! I love Dystopias and writing them! I feel like it’s a really hard genre to avoid being stereotypical or cliche with, though. Thoughts?

Catherine Roche replied to the topic Fantasy Biome in the forum Parimi Alca Writing Discussions 6 years, 9 months ago
@rebecca-w Interesting! So the one that popped into my head is a pretty obvious one, and that’s the power to read someone’s potential for good/evil, or to read whether someone’s intentions are good or bad. Pretty basic, though… @evelyn had a good idea.

Hello! So, for the first time in months, last night I sat down and actually wrote something that wasn’t for school! Yay! A whole 657 words. XD Not a ton compared to some other writers, but it’s still writing!
Also, did you know that the first Hunger Games book has more ratings on Goodreads and Amazon than the first Harry Potter book? Not what I expected!
