*takes a deep breath and steps, once again, onto a soap box. His fiery eye gazes at each of you in turn, slowly, he draws his sword* Four score and some months ago I had a dream! But that dream died. Now the revolution is no more and I come to thee, not to command, but to ask. *He flicks open his blade and stabs it into the ground* I stand before ye today having chosen; chosen to spend the time graciously given to me in a way I hope is best. For, instead of fellowshiping with you, all of you, I hath placed my energy into other things. Into those around me, into the study of the great faith we shair, and into this novel. And yet, even though should I choose again, my decision should remain, I regret the time not spent with all of thee; friends and friends that could have been. Some of you only know of me. Yet, be assured, had I chose differently, then friends we would be indeed; perhaps friends we could still be. So I come to you, all of you, with a request. Brothers and sisters we all have felt the toil of the pen; the time consuming cost of our traid. You, better than any, know how it feels to finally triumph against such adversity. To finish what you began so long ago. So I beg of thee now, spare a penny of thine time and make my joy complete. Please, read that witch I hath labored to craft, and teach me where I hath fallen short. I know some of thee hath not penny to spare, I bid thee leave in peace! Yet, to those who are willing, I humbly ask of thee, feed my soul. I ask not for praise, for it is like honey; sweet to the tongue yet doing nothing to fill a man. Instead I ask for truth! If sweet, so be it, but if bitter all the better. For ‘Faithful are the wounds of a friend but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful’. ‘As iron sharpens iron’ may thee sharpen me now. I thank you all for the hour glass thee hast drained on my behalf; for the time thee hath spend just to know me. Tis would be a lie to say anyone of you hath changed my life indefinitely. Yet as a story is meny words, and a painting many colors, each of has left their mark upon me. Tis, if I were a canvas and each of you a stroke of the Masters brush, I would be wonderful indeed. So, pray thee, paint again, add a word once more and read.
