O man… *stares at the mountain of posts before him. Sheaths his sword bow and grabs a walking stick* Guess I better star climbing!

@ori-art: *snaps* darn, O well sill nice to get to know you! “I wasn’t trying to ‘beat’ @serenity ‘s position. I was just sad to hear her say we don’t have a choice in salvation” Oh, well ok : D I just kinda spoke from my own experience where I definitely tried to beat the Calvinist position! sorry!

“I understand what she’s getting from the Ephesians chapter…but that is one chapter in the whole Bible” hehe, uh not quite XD. Anyway I don’t want to defend serenity, I’ll let her defend her own position but just know that I’m not a Calvinist (or an Armenian for that matter) so if you ever find Calvinism telling you Gods evil talk to me : D (not saying that if your a Calvinist you believe Gods evil. That’s obviously not true, it’s just that was the logical conclusion I came to) . “You mentioned the Trinity…how about just God?” ya ok. I just though the Trinity was a good example! Yes, I was close! Hey do you care to share how you got over your fear thing cuz I have a brother whos and INFP with the same sort of problem… It would be nice to know!

@the-fledgling-artist: “Is your little brother an artist??” yep! Actually my whole family artistic *coughs* except me XD Tt makes for a weird dynamic…

*takes a sip from his tea cup* “*gasps* YOU LIKE TEA??” *eyes go wide and he chucks the tea cup, still full of tea, over his shoulder.* What? NO! (ok, yes I like tea BUT I DON’T LIKE TALKING ABOUT TEA!)

also, feel free to sit back and enjoy the ride : D

“just for clarification though, when you say “lose” your salvation, do you mean like, no one is able to take that it from you? or like, Once saved always saved?” Uh I mean you can ‘deny’ your salvation by the same process belief occurs (whatever that is) so not like someone else can take your salvation from you. Basically, you can choose (crowd gasps! “he used a freewill word!”) to not be saved. I’ll explain my whole position latter once I finish my attack and go into the defensive : D.

@parker: XD alright well I’ll try my best (not saying I know everything either…) is it ok if I just point you to what I said to selah a while back? I think most of my verses are there.

I KNOW! *plugs his ears* I don’t get why some people like it…

Heres 1 Corinthians 15:2 in the KJV “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.” so many ‘eyes XD

@wordsmith: “And yes… I still hold to those beliefs while claiming the same interpretation as Calvinism.” ok cool! (maybe I’ll ask you about it latter when things die down…

@emgc: “But, in answer to your question, my short answer would be that these passages are simply a warning God used as a means to help us to endure, and persevere in our faith.  You say this warning poses the possibility that a (genuine) believer can fall away. But, if you’re correct, than isn’t God’s promise to preserve us subject to fail? ” ah you see this is where I think we so often go wrong! You see we as humans don’t like contradictions and thus, when faced with two seemingly contradicting statements (like predestination and freewill, or faith and works, or even if salvation is permanent or not) we say “I’m sorry God, but they can’t both be true, you must have ment this one is true and not the other one…” and we try and minimise the evidence supporting the view contradicting ours. We make ‘or’ statements out of what ought to be ‘and’ statements just because the word ‘and’ doesn’t make sense to our little brains. I’ve come to explain it kinda like this:

Two statements are written on a sheet of paper right next to each other. One says “Joe is holding a pen in his right hand.” and the next says “Jo is not holding a pen in his right hand.” (now you can probably figure out some way these statements does not contradict but just bear with me and let’s say the are complete opposites XD) Now, take away the dimension of time and these statements contradict! You, a timeless being, (don’t ask me how that would work… IDK XD) would say “this cannot possible be true, Jo must be holding a pen with his right hand or not holding a pen with his right hand.” However add the dimension of time back in and these statements no longer contradict at all. The fact is at one time Jo was holding a pen and at other he wasn’t; simple!

The way I see it were in that timeless dimension. We don’t have the full grasp on our situation and, while yes, from our perspective, this is impossible, the Bible’s not written from our perspective. That’s how we know its absolute truth because the One who wrote it has ALL the information and knowledge that we as humans can’t fit in our tiny little brains. He has the perspective of the higher dimension. So when you say ‘it’s one or the other’ I think that’s where you go wrong. The funny thing is we already know this! I mean we believe in dual nature of Christ which says he is 100% God and 100% Man (and i’m not sure if you noticed but that makes the bible pretty bad at math XD) and we believe in the trinity for goodness sakes! However, that being said, it’s quite difficult, as I am a timeless being, to both hold a pen and not hold a pen simultaneously XD. Thus, being forced, in some way, to choose (though I know both are true) I choose the safest option. Because the fact is if I act as an arminian and as if my choices matter (and they do) and I’m wrong (again i’m getting into an ‘or’ kind of scenario which it isn’t, it’s just we can’t mental grasp an ‘and’ scenario…) then great! I’ve already lived the life God wanted me to anyway! But, if its the other way around, you end up with problems. See what I mean? So, if forced to choose I believe the safest option, in this case believing you can lose your salvation. As for where do I find my assurance? From the fact that I can’t lose my salvation XD (ah, I love illogical logic…) Anyway I’ll address your responses just in case you don’t like ‘illogical logic’ (which is likely. Its part of human nature. XD)

As for Hebrews I do agree it was a warning and that Paul was “convinced of better things in [their] case” but that, in now way, makes the warning nullified! I would equate this to me saying “Emgc if you drugs bad things will happen to you. But don’t worry, I’m convinced you won’t do drugs” That does not, in any way, rule out the possibility of you doing drugs. (+, might I add, you don’t warn someone about something that can’t happen… “ Emgc, you better not look at your computer screen too much, or it will rot your brain” *sighs and shakes his head* Why did I trust you grandma…)

As far as the romans one, I totally agree, it’s talking about the Jews and Gentiles as a whole but, I would argue, it’s also talking about the individual “Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith. Do not be conceited, but fear; 21 for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you, either. 22 Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you also will be cut off. ” Romans 11: 20-22 NASB if this is only talking about the group then if your a Jew you can’t be saved because you’ve been “broken off”. And I’m sure you agree Jews “also, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.”

This verse is more shaky but I’m going to try and defend it. Right, this is talking about false teachers but that doesn’t mean they weren’t saved. Consider this verse “…even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.” 2 Peter 2: 1b how do you deny what you don’t know and, more then that, why does it say “the Master who bought them” if they weren’t christians? That doesn’t make much sense to me.

Alright cool, tell me me thoughts! (I hope that dark corner is nicer than it looks XD)

@ashira: “*feels like an spy if you don’t know I am here*” XD don’t worry, your the latest in a very long list of stalkers! Feel free to jump in! Don’t, worry, The-artist (can I call you that now? It’s easier XD) already ensured the dreaded video would appear in this post : D

“And yeah, cool profile picture!  Did your little bro draw it?” ya, pretty cool huh!

“he actually showed some emotion when you said you were leaving!  I began to wonder if it was possible.” HEY! I’m not emotionless (*stops for a moment to consider the meny perks of being such*) I just don’t like emotions. Besides, those emotions are fake (hehe, sorry selah XD) and I like being dramatic (but only on the internet… Otherwise, it’s exhausting!)

@kari-karst: “That’s a very cool profile picture! Your brother drew it? What’d he use? Also, on a side note. Have you worked on drawing your sword/bow weapon?” He used Adobe Illustrator, I tried earlier and, uh, failed. So he helped me out (and by ‘helped me out’ I mean did absolutely everything) *pauses for a second and blinks twice* I still can’t believe your only 14… Maybe you’re lying…

@selah-cheliya: “Pleeeease wait for me!” *looks up from his fuero rous typing* hehe, define ‘wait’

@catwing: “I am 17.” *stairs at you with his wife fiery eye* WHAT! *crosses his arms* I don’t believe it.

@serenity: WOW! That was long… I may have found a rival for the longest post on this forum (but I still think I’m winning : D) nice summary of Calvinism. Now, I think you’re going to disagree but what’s your opinion on what I said to Emgc? Also, could I try and argue arminianism against you? (I need practice!) I mean your profile pic has a kid so I’m going with 23 (I don’t know why XD) also, I know of a fairly convincing video a friend sent me against calvinism and, while technically it’s a stranger on the internet, would you mind watching it and telling me how you respond (worst case scenario you can answer all the questions and I get a better defence for calvinism XD)

*stands up and cracks his back* alright guys I’m done! Whew! Talk to all soon! (this is 1901 words BTW! Just to keep that title XD)
