@karthmin The Bible! But the second book that impacted me the most was probably Speaker for the Dead by Orson Scott Card. It’s been years since I have read it, but I remember it impacting me. It taught me that there is always another side to the story, and motivations are not always what they seem.

@hope-ann We have two writers. @kelly-lundgren and… someone else… I don’t know their username 😛 It’s either @seekjustice or @emgc. I really should write down whose usernames are connected to their actual names.
Then you, Hope, are tentatively an editor, and I am also an editor.

@the-inkspiller Thanks!
Actually, someone (I think it was @enu but I am BAD at matching up the names with their usernames. Sorry if I got that wrong.) tinkered with the chat so that karthmin can’t see it now, so you can just go to the group chat we used last month. You’ve probably gotten the notifications about it by now. 😉

@karthmin I know there are more negative arcs out there, but the only one I can think of is Grant Ward from Agents of Shield (Spoilers for the first 3 Seasons. I haven’t seen past Season 3.)
For the first half of the first season Grant was the uptight, by-the-rules person of the group that ruined everyone else’s fun. But over the season, he…[Read more]

(CHARACTER PROFILE)Â @filewriter
Princess Foo aka Mae prefers dragons to people. She lives in a tree house spread over several trees (*cough*Sidenote not included in the bio: It’s like in the Swiss Family Robinson movie. @emgc You can also subscribe to specific threads, and get a new notification every time something is posted on a thread. (At the grey bar at the top of the first post.) Personally, I don’t want to be notified every time someone makes a comment on any Erekdale topic. That would be an overload of comments. But if you do, you could subscribe to every…[Read more]

@fawxofthecomics I have seven younger siblings, and the youngest is… 8? I think. It’s hard to remember when they were 6-7 because you don’t notice them growing up, but here is what I would say.
Younger kids around that age with older siblings don’t really know what they like yet, so they like what their older siblings like. If the older…[Read more]

Guys! We did it! We finished the story! It’s written and edited and amazing! Everyone really pitched in this month, and no one had to do too much work on their own. I think we have a really good chance of winning, but either way, I am proud of the story we put out.
The contest closes at midnight tonight, but I don’t know which timezone, so I…[Read more]

The story has been finished! We are slightly over the word limit at 2685/2500, so some trimming needs to be done, but I think we have a really good story! The official editors are @emgc, @sageinthemeadow, and @seekjustice.
You can find the story here. Remember, the prompt was “Write a story with a non-cliche happy ending.”

Huzzah, fellow warriors. With victories gained in the land of Hangouts, we now have a plan of action!
Bob is a prince who was turned into a frog after climbing into a tower looking for a princess, and found a witch instead. She had spread the rumors herself to lure in princes, and when she didn’t like them she turned them into frogs and tossed t…[Read more]

I WANT TO BE AN ENT TOO! Or maybe a nymph? If my soul is of a tree does that make me a plant? In most stories I have read if the tree dies the nymph dies, but sometimes they can move which tree they are attached to.
*Shrugs* if that doesn’t count then an agave. I like succulents.

@catwing Happy Birthday! I am turning 18 soon too, and I feel the *gestures vaguely* *panics*. Have fun at the sleepover, and thanks for the offer. We should still be in the brainstorming stage this weekend, but if we get it nailed down before then it wouldn’t hurt to start. *shrugs*
