July is much the same as November, except that you don’t have to do a novel: you can do poetry, scripts, short stories, or whatever.

Tine commitment varies on your goal and speed. I’ve known some crazies [lookin at you, @deeprun and @emgc] to finish 50k in under fifteen days, while it took me the whole month to get 25k words. I’m a procrastinator, so I didn’t have tons of crazy work most of the month until the end (I think–it’s been a few months :P).

And yes! On the YWP you can adjust your goal at any time. Which has helped. XD I’ve won each year, but with different word counts. First year was 12k, second was 7k, and this last year was 25k. I’ve also done Camp NaNo, with counts of 8k and 22.5k.

You can also set your own challenges when you want to, at least on the YWP. I did one a few months ago. . . but I think I forgot about it 25% in. XD Oh well. The draft is done now anyway. 😉
