Kiet gritted his teeth, tears involuntarily squeezing out of his eyes. When was the last time anything had hurt this badly? His head buzzed, the voices around him turning into mere noise. He vaguely noticed a higher voice, a female one, pierce through the haze for a moment before it flowed back over him like a thick smog and the world disappeared.

Gerik frowned. “I was just heading home until that guy happened. I figure Beta 7.9 will tell us what to do. If you need someplace to go, I guess you can come with me.”
