@kayla-joy Haha, I’m a bit of a neat freak. Mostly, I just like things to be organized. I certainly have my own chaotic system for things, but all in all, I’m much more on the OCD side of things. XD

@kayla-joy Haha! My mom is like obsessed, so I got a lot of it. XD

@kayla-joy Thanks for the feedback! I’ve actually got two scenes with Willow that go in between those, but I didn’t want to post too much and take up everyone’s time. I, personally, relate more to Willow, so I’m kind of having a little more fun with her, I think.
Yeah, I’m still working out some kinks with it. This one’s really thrown me for a…[Read more]

@brandon-miller Like you wouldn’t believe! It has been torture!
Oh! I like Clear Water Press! Any chance you’d still recommend it to a college grad? XD
@kayla-joy Oh, yay! I hope so! *bounces up and down* I do so like getting along! Ugh, though I will not wear those dastardly things called shoes. Unless absolutely positively mandatory! I will…[Read more]

Hey,

You guys had an eventful week while I was gone, let me go ahead and hit up some of the highlights.
First off, GUYS WE WON A GUILD WAR!!! I saw the numbers. It was not close. You guys ROCKED it. WAY TOO GO. I wish I could come give you all high-fives or something bc wow I am proud. Nice work.

Hey folks, I’m here to bid you a fond fare well. As you can see, I’m now a guildmaster, and I’m off to start my own guild. Which means we’re now rivals. 😛
Kidding, kidding. You’re all still epic. 😉 But this is where I leave you. It was a pleasure to be with you all, and I couldn’t just leave without a little explanation and farewell. *salutes…[Read more]

@kayla-joy That’s it, we need a club! XD I’m not sure it’s a huge loss to not have an evil laugh, though. 😛

@kayla-joy I agree with @seekjustice that this sounds like something very very difficult to pull off, but I think if you could pull it off it could turn out really well.
The big thing to watch out for is that this disorder doesn’t become an excuse. If half of him is evil, that doesn’t mean that he’s a good person. He’s still half evil.
I also…[Read more]

I’m not a regular user of SE so forgive me for randomly barging in here. I found this topic very interesting though, and I just wanted to give you my opinion.
I personally think you would have to tread very carefully if you went the DID route. You need to remember that DID is a real and very complex issue that real people deal with…[Read more]

@kayla-joy That he has DID. It’s kind of like Dr. Jekl and Mr. Hyde, but with a cool twist. Maybe you could somehow make it so he’s redeemed in the end too. That also sounds like it would be powerful, and then you wouldn’t feel betrayed because his good side didn’t “deserve” the ultimate punishment for the crimes. Maybe the good side finds out…[Read more]

@kayla-joy I don’t think it’s a bad thing that your antagonist is growing on you. in fact, I think we should put near as much effort into our bad guys as we do our good guys. readers still love a well-crafted villain. I think the DID idea is a good one. 🙂

@kayla-joy You could give him something else to outsmart? Yes it would be harder to give him a redemptive arc, but writing is hard. Anyone is redeemable. “For God so loved the world.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 says “Neither fornicators, nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor…[Read more]

@kayla-joy I think you’re likely to lose something of the character if you use DID as an easy out. A redemption arc would probably be more effective and more meaningful, and you’re less likely to lose a piece of the character. Your antagonist’s motivations should be a part of him, and having those motivations change is more effective, I think,…[Read more]
