The big thing to watch out for is that this disorder doesn’t become an excuse. If half of him is evil, that doesn’t mean that he’s a good person. He’s still half evil.

That also sounds like it would be powerful, and then you wouldn’t feel betrayed because his good side didn’t “deserve” the ultimate punishment for the crimes. @kayla-joy I don’t think it’s a bad thing that your antagonist is growing on you. in fact, I think we should put near as much effort into our bad guys as we do our good guys. readers still love a well-crafted villain. I think the DID idea is a good one. 🙂

A redemption arc would probably be more effective and more meaningful, and you’re less likely to lose a piece of the character.
