@Daeus-lamb *nods* Are we talking about spiritual/emotional sacrifices, or actual physical ones? For instance we could go for scifi, and the character actually literally gives limbs and/or organs (in battle, or maybe to replace the limbs/organs of people he/she loves, or possibly both), replacing them with bionic limbs until he literally doesn’t have anything left. Of course this would also involve emotional sacrifices— maybe he was a pilot until he had to sacrifice his hands, an artist until he lost his sight, a runner until he lost his legs, etc.
Going with the idea of a rebellious son, we could take it from the son’s POV after he’s just experienced the victory of his life, then receives word that his dad is dying and grudgingly goes to visit him… possibly hasn’t even seen him in years. Maybe the dad can’t even talk anymore, but in his conversation with the doctors the son discovers that every time his life was threatened it only lasted because of some sacrifice on his dad’s part, and he owes every victory in his life to the dedication of his dad.
Not sure… that could get sappy really easily. 😛 What do you guys think? @m_corinnemusic @lady-iliara @gabbyj @cassandraia @literatureforthelight
