There was a pause as Master Klein seemed to consider Riure’s question. “Yeah,” he finally said. “Its cool. Just whisper. Don’t be afraid to question each other’s plans. If everyone is thinking the same, no one is thinking.”

Riure slumped in her chair as relief crackled through her being. Ok. Maybe being sightless wasn’t so bad after all.

“This should be fun,” Lord Castle’s voice broke in. Riure steeled herself for another restriction. “How about the emotional boy and blind girly can’t speak to one another, hm? No words.”

“Are you kidding me?” Zanar shouted.

“No.”

“It’s okay,” Riure said as calmly as she could. Her hand slipped inside her light cloak and she traced her fingers across the surface of the tablet. The grooves that spelled “laugh” were still there.

Idea!

“Zanar, can you come over to this side of the table?” she asked. Sadiq stiffened. “I have an idea.”
