The flying dog thought for a moment, then lifted a talon – a very large talon – and began drawing in the dirt. Ash hesitated for an instant, but overcame his fear and edged closer to see what she was sketching.

First was what looked like some sort of animal with a curling tail. Ash glanced at Farely. Probably the she-wolf. Then Silent drew several lines straight as sticks – sticks, trees! Next came a sweeping curve, probably the river since that was what made sense. She paused, waiting for some encouragement. Ash met her clear blue (?) eyes for a moment, then looked back down as she made one fluid motion, covering the wolf and trees with the lines of the river.

Oh.

“She’s… she’s gone?” Ash managed. He wasn’t sure if he should be sympathetic, gleeful, or just uncaring. “The flood-”

Silent nodded sadly.

So… this could be either good or bad. One predator gone. Somehow that didn’t make Ash feel better.
