Oh boy, I missed a lot… Camping… In a cabin… With seven other people… And it’s awesome… Just… Squishy…
O.K. First of all starting with @noahlitle
It’s been a fun conversation because I am fascinated by how different guys and girls are (and it’s super helpful for writing, I have trouble getting into a guy’s mindset).
I’m an ENFP (yes, one of those). I tend to think about everything as one thing, but it’s all different colors and threads making one thing, so I pretty much don’t have different sections of my life or thinking… which may account for why I tend to tell long winded stories. 😝 It’s very hard for me to think of one thing at a time, nigh impossible. I am a dreamer, big time. Too many ideas, too much zeal to think about too much… which is pretty consistent to the rest of my life. Too much to try, so very little time for all of it. As far as relating back to crying, maybe that’s why everything blends together in utter woe. It certainly feels like the world is falling apart, and the emotions are just as broad and brightly colored as the rest of the thread.
Here’s an odd question. Even though it sounds like guys have different ways of thinking and dealing with circumstances, they all have trouble multitasking, whereas we gals are famous for that ability. I know there’s different levels of this among girls, like I must have music while studying, and others can’t, but generally, girls are much better at it than guys. Why is it difficult to multitask for guys?
Ooh…. soundtrack!!! Well, I’d have to say Howard Shore has me flat on my face in awe… I love LOTR and The Hobbit soundtracks, but I also love the Narnia soundtracks. I have adored some of How to Train Your Dragon, and Across the Stars from Star Wars is one of my favorites. I love the soundtrack for Black Beauty, that one is awesome. Then oddly enough… I really love The Polar Express. The whole kit and caboodle. Plus… I recently discovered I adore Josh Groban’s voice!!
Then I also love soundtrack covers. The Piano Guys, and Peter Hollins especially (I sing, play piano and will be starting cello soon, so of COURSE those appeal to me). Actually, even though I haven’t seen The Greatest Showman, I loved Never Enough, but I did not like Rewrite the Stars (severe disappointment in Zack Efron’s voice). The Piano Guys cover was much better!!!
What about you? Anything crucial to this list that I should have listened to by now (being a soundtrack person)?
O.K. Moving on to @anne-of-lothlorien. I loved your whole thing!!! I am really enjoying this whole thread, it’s been super helpful and flat out intriguing.
Oh dear, wow, I’m so sorry about what happened, I think it’s possible that I heard about that recently, it could have been something else, but I think that I heard about it, and we prayed about it during our morning Bible time.
I totally understand a lot of your points, but I think I’m actually opposite to a lot of them, in the sense that my tears just come at different times. Like, books/movies almost never make me cry, even though I am desperately wanting to cry! Then on the way home from church feeling upset over something makes me ready to lose my composure…
Oh dear yes!!!! I do remember you mentioning that before. That makes me SO STINKING UPSET!!!!! I’m more willing to laugh about it in the moment (unless it’s a creeper following you to see where you are staying), but after I think about it, I get mad. Then beyond that, I feel so upset that anyone would be more concerned about fake anything than being real. I am having a little bit of trouble right now, and it’s quite honestly tearing me up a little… Some of my friends are really trying to be cool, which I am not, and since I’m not, they’re ignoring me and being really immature, which further upsets me because younger kids are looking up to them. I was really upset about this the other day, just thinking that my friends would rather be fake and cool, therefore ignoring me or making me look a little dumb by laughing at me because I won’t act like them. They’re not doing this at all to hurt me, and I think they don’t even realize what they’re doing, but it still hurts. Any time anyone takes notice/ignores me for how I act or look, it really does hurt. I make heart connections with people who are real, and I can’t stand it when they’re not. It seems that so many people have no desire to be genuine. This year I was so upset at music camp when some of my friends started playing break up songs because it contradicted everything I believe and dream about when it comes to love/getting married. That night I broke down and sobbed because the same friends started watching a horror movie trailer. If you want to know something else that will make me cry, that did it. I watched about 15 seconds of it, and it was hardly more frightening than Narnia (I never get scared in movies). I told the girls to please go in the bathroom, I climbed in bed and broke down sobbing. Finally a couple of my friends who knew that I was seriously upset took me in the bathroom to calm me down. I sobbed violently, and my friends could feel me shaking. The music had really upset me (I’m super musical, and hearing messages in music form that made me feel like the purpose of “love” and romance is to be happy for a short time then break up was tremendously upsetting), and then adding on top of that the feelings of repulsion (which I believe was me as a Christian sensing the evil in it and knowing in my heart that I could not have any part of it) it just caused me to weep.
I think that any time I am given the message that my worth is in the eyes of the beholder or in how I “fit in”, or even the concept you gave on feeling like I’m viewed as an object it really upsets me because I know that I don’t have any worth in any of these areas. I don’t find my worth there, and it makes me upset that anyone would view me as having worth/worthless according to those standards.
Hmmm… Well, as I can’t get my mind to recognize @wordsmith as Buddy, I have no guesses at your real name… It’s simply Anne of Lothlorien in my brain… And it won’t change. Even if you did tell me…
If I had to throw a guess out there… Hmmm… Rebecca, Anna, Sydney and Abby are the four that come to mind, but I wasn’t using my imagination. If you wanted me to be creative… Jules, Cassie and Kendra are the three that oddly came to my brain. Now you can laugh at me. XD
What do you think my name is?? I’m not saying, even if you guess right, but I just wonder what you would guess. 🙂 It’s one of those names that when you meet another person with the same name, quite often I’ve found they’re personalities and instantly become sisters (for however long you know them).
BTW, I would never in a million years have guessed Buddy, @wordsmith. Although I do think that’s really a fun name. That’s my nickname for my little brother, that and Nanol.
