A poem I’d written today while an uneasy time I had… Do you also pray through poetry sometimes?

Anyway – The translation doesn’t contain much of the artistic beauty of the original (rhyme, meter, and – suddenly, when needed, English decided to not have enough words), but I think I should share it anyway. I hope it’ll help someone(s) there 🙂

Thank @kimlikesart for the metaphor of desert / wilderness to those trials 🙂

Critiques, likes and grammatical corrections are welcome!

The fire fades in my soul

The fire fades in my soul

Only embers are left of my bonfire

And my candle dies down inside me

And my light goes out my heart

Ignite my passion in me again

Renew a clean, pure heart in me

That is burning, hungry, thirsty for the light

My God, please give in me thoughts

    That wander only towards You

Renew a holy, white heart in me

So I shall desire only You, please

And shall wait and hope to Your presence

    Purify my head from meaninglessness

And be the main thing in my life

You redeemed me and I am Yours

My God, to You I shall beg

For I could not darn it

I shall not renew my heart

But only Your sovereign power will

Renew in me a laughing, singing heart

I will know, and remember – You are with me

I am not alone against my trouble

You will give me Your supreme power

With which I shall pass through any trial

Strengthen me in the heart of the desert

When You will give an end to the wilderness

I will lift up my eyes in humility

I will know and remember and not forget

You are with me – In You I will trust

    Embrace me in love
