some stylistic issues kept taking me out of the story

Do you mind if I ask exactly what issues drew you out of the story? Since this will be the first thing the readers will read, I want to make sure I keep them in the story. Colton actually finds Brianna on the ground. So they weren’t together when it happened.

Thank you for that input! I was meaning for the “not again” parts to refer an event that had happen several years before. A different situation, different sister, etc.

What happened to cause her injury you find out at the end of the book.

That is an idea! Hmm…Like jumping straight from the ambulance to the start of chapter 1? I’ll have to think about that new option. Thanks!

I plan to answer them at the end of this book/the beginning of the sequel. It is the set up for the conflict of the rest of the story. 🙂

I will definitely try read it aloud both for grammar mistakes and adding action/dialogue.  Thanks so much for the advice!

Actually, I am not really sure how to categorize it. What is classified as coming of age? The MC does grow and learn about herself through out the book but it is not really from childhood to adulthood. Part of the novel takes place in another world so I know that it is fantasy with a mix of adventure?
