    @noah-cochran

To be perfectly honest with you, I just kinda assume that my writing could have flaws or quirks in any area, so nothing much surprises me. But I suppose the ‘it needs more introspection for internal conflict’ was what surprised me the most.

Hmmm, I know I said that and I do want to warn you that my personal philosophy on internal conflict is “You’re reading this for the characters, so I’m assuming you want to know about them so strap in and here we go on a paragraphs long internal struggle where I also accidentally vent about any philosophical issue that has interested me lately! Hope you enjoy the drama!”

It may be a byproduct of the more distant narrative distance too because I always write very, very close. I’m not saying you shouldn’t add more, I’m just trying to figure out why there was a difference between what you were thinking and what I’m thinking.

I love seeing other people get excited about their creations, keep it up.

Ha, I wouldn’t stop even if you wanted me to so it’s wise of you to resign to it XD But seriously, thanks, I really enjoy talking about it and it makes me happy that I can rant about it to you 🙂

Well obviously you did a lot more than that this past week if you nearly hit 30k. What’s the most you’ve written in a day?

So, uh, about that. Remember I said I couldn’t write 6k in a day so I wouldn’t hit 30k? Ummm, I might have written all day and gotten to 30k anyway XD

So, yeah, most productive writing day ever so far, 5755 words in like four and a half hours. (I was going slowly for much of it cause I really am tired. Don’t try this at home, folks. Take it from me, bad idea, even though it’s  very satisfiying. It’s basically a novel speedrun!)

And my team won in every category so it paid off!

That is so me. xD When a cat gets cozy on your lap, it’s so hard to move them.

Absolutely, when that 20 pound cat settles himself on top of me there is no way I’m moving him even if I wanted to XD And when he starts purring like a motorcycle with a bad tank of gas it’s too cute to move him XD

Yeah, I understand it. I’m just so caught up in how good it is in my head, that I need someone to tell me just how bad it is to get my head out of the clouds.

As someone who has read it, I can reassure you, it isn’t bad. It’s a first draft, it isn’t finished. Beta reading isn’t meant to decide whether your writing is good or not, it’s to show you where you have to keep working on it.

Your first draft isn’t perfect nor should it be. That’s not what it’s there for, it’s just a start. It’s like looking at a stack of bricks and being disappointed that it doesn’t look like a finished castle.

(Ha, I’m absolutely talking to myself too.)

    Agreed. I love those.

Something about it is just extremely cinematic, absolutely glorious.

Young lady, don’t stay up past your bedtime.I did wonder with the long tangents and all.

Ahaha, don’t young lady me, sir. It wasn’t even that late! It was like… 9:30 pm.

SEE THAT’S WHAT I KEEP TELLING HER COZ I’M LIKE ‘IN MY TIMEZONE THE SUN’S STILL UP BUT I KNOW IT’S WAY PAST YOUR BEDTIME IN YOUR TIMEZONE WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON PINTEREST TALKING TO ME THIS LATE IN THE DAY!!!!!!!

I love how all my internet friends turn into worried parents the second they think I’m up late XD I’m responsible, I do not stay up later than I should, don’t worry yourselves XD

Since I can’t recall which of you messed up my fine sobriquet first, I’m gonna blame it on both of you. Disrespecting such a fine name. Dreadful of you.

I take full responsibility. Okay, maybe half. Cathy started it and I’m finishing it 😈😈

Oohh, I had one more kinda exciting thing to tell you! Remember the dress Delphine wears in the earlier part of the book? The forest green one with ivy embroidery? Well, the exact moment I read it my first reaction was “Oh, I wanna wear that.”

So when I found the most perfect green viscose/linen fabric and was trying to decide whether to make a dress or a skirt, I remembered that dress so I’m kinda making a modern interpretation of it I guess? The pattern isn’t accurate and it isn’t really historical but I’m absolutely taking inspiration from that dress. (I have no idea how I’m going to do the embroidery but I’m looking forward to it!)

Also, it will have pockets. That’s important to mention.

LEAVE MY BABY, AYDIN ALONE!!!!!! *Also me: torturing my baby Alessio…*

Yaknow, sometimes you just gotta push characters a couple miles past their breaking point. For character development.

Aydin actually doesn’t have anything to lose so I spend the first half of the book giving him something to lose and spending the second half making him lose it all over again 😈😈 Yaknow. Character development.

Pft, I can’t even remember what it was before Camvir-something-blahblah, I can’t wait to see what it’ll be by the end of the year, probably something completely different and it’ll be all my fault *I’m so happy!*

I’m so proud of us 😇

IT’S A HATE CRIME AGAINST A MINORITY, A SMALL MINORITY, A ONE-PERSON MINORITY!!!!!!! You should be ashamed of your throne of ink and ruthless productivity, your throne of achievement that break the dreams of those who have toiled and broken their backs for years to no avail!!!!!! DEATH AND DESPAIR BABY DEATH AND DESPAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do I at least get an emoji lollipop..?

That’s just the most dramatic thing I’ve ever read. I’m so proud of you, your over-dramatic threats are improving!! 🍭🍭

    Oh. Pain. Sweet.

    ✨Suffering✨

    @emily-waldorf

What’s the Book Thief about? Can it make me cry any harder than A Tale of Two Cities? I don’t believe I’ve met the book that can. (Give it to me!)

Yesss, read it!! It tore my heart into pieces and stomped on it, I have to infect everyone around me!

It’s set in WWII Germany, and it’s about a girl named Liesel who gets sent into foster care. Eventually, they help the resistance by hiding a Jew because of a favor Liesel’s foster father owes his father.

It’s a kinda slow story, it mostly focuses on Liesel and her relationships with everyone around her and how the war affects them. The prose is lovely and the characters are very loveable, I really loved it!

It was published pretty recently (2005 I think) but it reads like a classic XD

And…why is everybody shouting? (Don’t worry, I’m always the one who glares at people who are shouting with a wilting glance…at least I hope it’s wilting.)

Oh we’re shouting coz we’re good friends of course   Good friends who live to drive each other crazy!

    Exactly! We’re obnoxious!!! 😇

aka the person who lives to have a ridiculously high word-count for no other reason than to torment me the slow writer (she really does write fantastically fast!)

It’s spite, honey. Spite, stubborness, and coffee, the only things fueling me. XD
