His gaze didn’t waver, pain in his chest, but resolve and love in his eyes. “No matter what you’ve done, I will care about your life.” He said, wishing the dragon couldn’t hear. His tone was firm, only to the girl. He imagines things, “I may be shocked, or appalled, but I would not see your life as worth less. Watch me, and though I fail awfully, the reason I love when I do is because of the love I’ve seen. Just… consider there could be hope.” He added softly. Nithel put the piece of fabric on the ground before her, then pushed to his feet, the food bag in his hand.
